This is not a free app, it's a 30-day demo. Why, MacUpdate, do you continuously do this or allow developers to do it (listing paid apps as free, simply because you can actually download it without paying in advance)? This is getting more and more annoying. And to make matters worse, the developers rarely give the price on their website... forcing you to click the stupid "Buy it on the App Store" icon taking you to a web page representation of the app page on the MAS while auto-launching the MAS app, wait for the MAS to load the app page, scroll to the bottom and click the In App Purchase link so you can finally see the price of the app — and pray that there's only one in-app purchase, or multiple in-app purchases are explained well enough that you can figure out what the app costs without actually downloading, installing and running the app.

It's a nice app to navigate the finder, love that it is a menubar app and does not clutter the dock. However it does not show previews of SVG, and Ai files, which makes it useless for our vector graphics oriented environment. Also needs an option to enable copying files out of the cabinet without holding the option key. Overall it is a quick and stable menubar app.

It appears you can’t drag in premade aliases into File Cabinet’s window. You can create them from within FC and then move the orginals back to where you want to keep them, but that’s a hassle.

File Cabinet is a handy space to keep all the "I'll get around to this in bit" stuff cluttering the desktop. Then I discovered it's really a handy place for just about everything. Works pretty much like any other folder, except it's handily available in the top bar. And the built in editors and viewers are nice little additions. Developer is personal and quick to respond. Worth the money easily.

$10 but no trial? It sounds like a good app, but I have to pass.
