V6.x has been a nice product, has been reliable. I haven't upgraded to v7 yet but plan to after testing it..

Upgrade to v7 from prior versions is $29 as shown on the EMTec Innovations web site (near the bottom of the page - see pricing for ZOC Terminal). http://www.emtec.com/order.html#licensecodes

Fantastic and essential utility especially for Cisco CLI management. The developer was an absolute gent when I needed assistance. Highly recommended.

I let the developer know that their was an issue related to SSH, he assisted me in downgrading and that fixed it. A couple weeks later and the issue is fixed on this new current version. He has alway helpful and responds in a timely manner.

I guess everyone is spoiled with $1 apps for iOS. While it is pricey, this solves so many headaches for me it has been worth every penny. To not have the aggravations inherent to most command line tasks has been a godsend This is a great program and worth the investment.

Well, I remember it from the OS/2 times (mid to late 1990s) and it's always been a good piece of software, however the current pricing is absolutely ridiculous. I don't remember how much it did cost in 1990s, but it didn't have any good competition at the time anyway so whatever the price was, you didn't have many other options. Now I can live with another alternatives (PuTTY/KiTTY at Windows, iTerm 2/Terminal at OS X) which are pretty good for their zero price.

I use the scripting a lot and also regularly connect to multiple servers at once, using the send-to-all in the local typing feature to do things to all of them at once. Recently had to connect to an arcane system that required a Wyse terminal and after searching the web for a terminal emulator for that, I found this one supported it too .. LOL. Admittedly it's not inexpensive, but after a moment of gritted teeth when paying I never regretted the investment.

Flexible terminal solution with several outstanding features. App with a long term history, e.g. there was a version for OS/2, too.

There was! When I was running OS/2 way back when, this was THE terminal app. But even at 50% off I can't justify it when the command line ssh does me just fine.

I am in and out of Juniper and Cisco equipment, as well as Unix boxes, all day long. ZOC has never failed me. I even use it for serial console connections when a piece of equipment won't allow SSH/Telnet connections. Is it expensive? If you think all Mac software should be $20, then I suppose it is. For me, the price is reasonable. ZOC isn't a game which will sell thousands of copies. The target audience is considerably smaller, so the price will be higher, as the publisher will sell far fewer copies. ZOC works flawlessly, day in and day out. It is worth every penny.

Let me give you a hint... in the preferences you cannot even set the font / size to what you want. It's a drop down menu with each font listed in a range of width x height (size), etc... in other words, Monaco is listed 23 time and only five monospaced fonts are available. In a day and age when we normally select ANY font we want in ANY size this is archaic and outrageously overpriced.

I agree that the price tag is a bit steep, but certainly not because of font issues. Are you kidding me? You think because it is a software for Mac it should look like an artwork with no regard what so ever for functionality? I love good looking interfaces, but I know how to put my priorities.

I would be interested to see a person who pays $80 for a terminal...

Wow, what a blast from the past. I remember using ZOC back in my OS/2 days. Great terminal emulator, but not very Mac Like. I still like PowerTerm from http://ericom.com -- by far the best SCO ANSI emulation out there. I just wish it had tabs like ZOC.
