Heya sorry about that, can you isolate what causes the crash? Is it when you connect a device or do something specific? Have you reported that to our support?

Thanks for that log! We will release 6.6.3 next week a service update that will iron a couple of bugs and this will be addressed.
In the mean time the workaround: it looks like DiskAid fails at asking you to update to the latest iTunes version - please do so if applicable and give it another go. If this fails it would be worth opening a support ticket :)

You're right. I didn't really use iTunes, so I didn't update. Done now, everything is fine. Thanks for taking care!

It unregistered itself after an update, and now it want to connect "again" to register. I hate applications that requires to register online, even more if it unregisters itself after an update so I have to allow it to connect. I just think I won't be needing it anymore.

Sorry about that but going online is so far the best way for us to check for the license - and awfully sorry it unregistered you, probably a connection glitch, but we shall review this process in a future version. Please keep the feedback coming!

Connected to my Mac via a USB cable (although wireless also works), I just used DiskAid to copy from my iPhone to my Mac all of my Voice Memos, Notes, Contacts, Photos, Messages, Call History log, and Camera Roll in a matter of minutes. I had no music or videos, else I would have been able to copy those from the device to my computer, too.

Finder on the Mac tells me that the data in everything but my Voice Memos use up less than 1 MB each; the Voice Memos are using 170 MB of space on that iPhone. Now that I have those voice memos transferred to my computer, I can reclaim that space by deleting them on the iPhone, not by DiskAid, but by iTunes next time I sync.

This is a pretty slick and elegant piece of software! You can live without it, but it certainly is nice to have for those times when you want to quickly and easily the data on your iPhone or iPad and bring that stuff over to your computer.

Because the developer decided to hitch on Apples iTunes sync this app won't help you sync contacts and calendars as Apple removes it. Then what is the real point of Disk Aid? Given this the price tag is not warranted.

You may feel that without the feature you want then you have no use for Disk Aid, but don't extrapolate from that to claim that it has no utility for anyone else.

Personally I use it all the time for moving files to and from my various iOS devices and I find it invaluable for that purpose. It has also has very useful other functionality for controlling the content on iOS devices.

iTunes is very clumsy and has very limited functionality for moving files around, whereas Disk Aid is beautifully implemented.

@Nick, you indeed have a point there. It's sad though that apps rely on Apple rather than implement their own strategies.

Hey Mikael sorry I think there is a confusion here, DiskAid does pretty much the contrary of iTunes: extract data from the device to the computer, copy and manage files and folders on the device, access to the file system, and so on.
BTW no matter iTunes' removal of contact sync DiskAid still extracts contacts from devices and copies them to computers :)

Strike 2: There's a help file, but it launches my browser (that by itself could be three strikes!)

Strike 3: I can't have a 2nd monitor connected if I want to see the Operations progress. I'll stick with PhoneView - it can be molasses slow, but it's reliable.

DiskAid accesses iTunes material almost exclusively. There is one free app. that opens up my iPad Air as a volume. That is iTools for Mac at http://www.itools.cn/download.php?v=mac_en. At a first use, it seems quite easy to use and efficient. A note to the impatient: although the interface seems clear to me, there is no help available in English.

Wondering why it's phoning home at launch. To check for updates? If so, I'd prefer a way to uncheck it in the preferences, which is not possible.

Hey yes, it's checking for an update and eventually validating the registration - good point on prefs option, we'll consider that for a next update - if you have LittleSnitch or HandsOff you can block it in the mean time :)

Used it and liked it, but launching app every time I want to add song to my iPhone is too time consuming for me, because I do that a lot. Good thing I found Phonestick - easy to use, no need to launch, it just allows you to drag any media to your iPhone as if it was a flash drive.
