Another one of a million useless bull**** apps! All useful tools in it are available for free and the rest of it is scareware or similar - no wonder "some antivirus engines flag this application as potentially unwanted or malware."

My MacBook was running very slow...download and try AweCleaner, it removes 20GB junk data, I never thought there were so many junk files on my MacBook.

This is not a review per se, it is a discussion of the class of software to which this program belongs. As a public service to the MacUpdate community, I've found as many of these "cleaner" apps on this website as I could and listed them them below. (I did a search for 'cleaner'.) If MacUpdate will let me, I intend to post this every time a new or updated version of one of these things shows up on this site. There are 35 in the list, and it seems like new entries in the 'Mac cleaner' market space pop up every day, metastasizing like a cancer. Unfortunately, more is not better. They are all of dubious value. Many have no reviews at all. Many have what look to be essentially fake 5-star reviews with no useful commentary. Many -- probably the most accurate and honest -- have negative reviews, by users who have been burned by them. Most of the developers' descriptions boast about what a great job they do, but the truth is, there are no good, comprehensive, head-to-head reviews of these programs by impartial 3rd parties. True experts in macOS maintenance advise against using any of them, because in general they serve little useful purpose and they can easily do more harm than good. Macs simply do not need "cleaning." (See for example: https://www.thesafemac.com/the-myth-of-the-dirty-mac/) Some of these programs are notorious for being little more than malware. The user is well-advised to read any program documentation and make a RELIABLE BACKUP before attempting any changes. If I have missed any programs that should be on the list, please leave a comment and let me know. I will rate all these programs with one star, probably one more than they deserve. And I would appreciate comments. If you disagree, please speak up. But if all you can come up with is 5 stars and a sentence or two saying that program X is great and I don't know what I'm talking about, please save your breath. No one here will take you seriously. TinkerTool System is a an exceptional piece of quality engineering, safe when used properly, and superbly documented, with in-depth tutorials for every option. As for the rest, listed above, it is safe to say that nobody who really knows what they're doing with Macs and macOS will touch them. Don't get sucked in by a pretty interface. I wouldn't trust the star rating of this app, a lot of the reviews here look too fishy. Multiple users with just a hand full of visits to MU rate AweCleaner with 5 stars on the day of their registration and then they never return for over a year?... well, well well.... :) Some Devs know how to market their products ;)

Actually, I like the app. It cleans up nicely and covers more (but different) than Onyx. My issue is with the update process. Once again I am in a vicious circle. I enter the key and it says I am activated, but I never leave the trail version. This time I am giving up.

Great! Using AweCleaner for 1 year, all updates are useful and now it works greatly on my MacBook with macoS Mojave. Highly recommended becase it has so many wonderful tools.

Best of best. I have been using AweCleaner for 1 year. Powerful 9 tools including junk cleaner, file shredder, disk manager, duplicate finder, etc. Very good UI, pretty simple to use. I have upgraded to macOS Mojave. Works great.

Smart application. Safely clean up the Mac. And have many other tools like disk formater, uninstaller, file shredder, duplicate finder...

Most of The APP works except Internet Cleaner does not work at all even leaving it running for 20 Minutes Disappointing App Not worth the Money

I really like this app, it has a great GUI and is very easy to use. It doesn't have a menubar item though, it would be nice to access its features from there.

AweCleaner – the name is weird, but I like all the features. It works well on my MacBook. It is much easier to use that other cleaning application.

I don't care who offers this application. It is amazing application which has powerful tools, clean interface. And the support is quick and kind.

AweCleaner is really the useful application for common Macs. It has 9 excellent tools to help clean up junk, format disk, uninstall apps. The interface is great. I love it.

AweCleaner is a seriously adorable app! I love the colors and the interface... in addition to it working the way it's suppose to. It's easy to use and beautiful - 2 things I need in every app.

I just did a check and found around 10 system cleaners costing from really free (not trial or crippled) to ~$50. It makes me wonder why writing 'cleaner' is such a popular endeavor. Could it be that not a single one stands out as superior? It would be nice if some of these developers go together and came out with one that was dramatically comprehensive, efficiently through and effective at doing its job, had a good GUI and and was reasonably priced. If there is such a product you couldn't tell it from the number of competitors, with more being added every year. As for my choice I will continue to use 'a combination of 'Clean My Mac' which was a freebie to another product I purchased, and Onyx, at least till if or when such a product really stands out from the crowd.

I am using more than 2 cleaners on my Mac including cleanmymac, macbooster, etc. Test AweCleaner a few hours ago, it is pretty and the tools are necessary for Mac cleaning and managements. Keep it.

Nice interface with a number of tools. Seems kind of expensive. Biggest issue is it showed apps as being deleted even though they remained in the app folder. Other delete programs then failed to show them as deleted. had to delete them manually.
