I've just about had enough of this bloated piece of junk.
I found that this app will try to connect to shared drives at startup, even if you're not in the same network. Instead it keeps popping up cannot connect to xxxx server warning.
I reported this issue, the reply is I should disable firewall or any security app like little snitch....in case such apps prevent this app connect to their server.....
Excuse me?
After I pointed out that this had nothing to with their server. They just went to silence, and stop replying my emails.
Real funny.
I won't spend another penny on this company.
Besides that, this app is pretty useless. The uninstaller feature, will leave a lot of trash files...nothing better than the free AppCleaner.
The startup cleaner feature, will make lots of trouble, if you happened delete some startup item you shouldn't delete.
Trash scan is trash too... the results usually are cache file(which will speed up apps process, and it will mark screensaver's video file as trash...), language files, logs, nothing more....
A pretty much a useless app beside the beautiful UI...
and "responsive" customer service.

I bitterly regret buying the two licenses for CMM and the two ones for Gemini2, these guys have no respect for users' privacy -- allow me to explain:
Back in the day when I bought CMM, it had an option under Preferences- > Privacy so you could opt-in, if you wished, to share 'sanitized' information about the way you use the app to help them bring more unicorns to the world, convert poo in rainbows and blah blah blah.
Guess what: at some later version - which? I can't tell, because they did this surreptitiously without PROPERLY INFORMING THEIR USERS - they REMOVED the opt-in option and made it COMPULSORY; now when you go to Preferences -> Privacy you're SLAPPED IN YOUR FACE with a message that reads: "All data collected by CleanMyMac 3 can be reviewed in the updated Privacy Policy. Take a moment to learn how we collect and store your information."
Well, MacPaw: FUCK YOU.
If this had been the way things were from the very beginning, I wouldn't complain about it (I just wouldn't buy the app); but they changed the rules in a totally unacceptable way along the way without even having the decency to inform their users.
I PAID FOR YOUR SOFTWARE and now YOU ARE HARVESTING MY APPLICATION USAGE AND STEALING *MY* DATA.
What is worst, how can anyone could trust that the information they HARVEST FROM YOU is truly anonymous and whatever? For what is worth to me, they are shady as fuck. Luckily I never went with a Setapp subscription no matter how many times they approached with numerous discounts.
The app itself is great, congratz to the engineering team -- but the fucker(s) who made the brilliant decisions to go ahead and screw me can go fuck themselves.
I'll be compiling a list of alternative applications that can replace any and every feature of CMM and publishing it back here. I prefer any day to expend the same amount of money on legit developers and F/LOSS projects than expending a dime on THIEVES like MacPaw.
