NetSpot Home overview
NetSpot is a simple and accessible wireless survey tool, which allows collection, visualization, and analysis of Wi-Fi data using any MacBook. It can visualize your wireless network by building a visual Wi-Fi map, letting you see dead zones without coverage and place hotspots (access points) correctly. Using the visualized map of collected wireless data, you will also see channels' load, and will be able to decide how to optimize your Wi-Fi site.
NetSpot is a powerful analyzer of Wi-Fi coverage. Just in a couple of clicks you can load your area map, point your location on the map and NetSpot starts collecting Wi-Fi data around you. It will gather all the necessary information for analysis of radio-signal leakage, discovery of noise sources, optimal location of access points, etc.
You can also use NetSpot as a powerful wireless-network planning tool. Load a map, collect wireless site survey data, build a heatmap of your network, and you are ready to build the optimal configuration of a new Wi-Fi network with informed radio-channel usage and minimal signal-to-noise ratio.

Added:
- You can now add your own router with custom simulation parameters to a Predictive Survey project if a specific router brand and/or model is not yet available in NetSpot; also very useful when you need to see how custom settings may affect your future WiFi.
- Select and manage multiple building objects together while working with a Planning project. Move, resize, delete, change parameters, copy and paste.
- It is now possible to set the transmit power and channel width for Access Point bands in Planning mode.
Improved:
- More Access Point brands and models are added to Planning mode consistently.
- A way more advanced functionality of exporting, importing and merging snapshots.
Fixed:
- Subtle bug fixes and improvements throughout.

UPDATE from my previous post. I'll number the items: (I) v3.2.4095 is out. " * Added: Custom AP presets for Planning Mode. Now you can customize an AP for your predictive survey according to your specific needs. Remember that if a known AP model is missing from NetSpot’s list, you can always contact us and request it to be added;
* Added: Convenient secondary click (right-click) menu in Survey and Planning modes;
• Added: The possibility to add doors and windows to already drawn walls;
• Fixed: Lots of minor fixes throughout the app thanks to user reports.
(II) I had a good back-and-forth with Support about their screwed up UPGRADE web page. TEMPORARY FIX: Send a message to Support letting them know you want the 50% upgrade. They will send you a DISCOUNT COUPON CODE for $29.50 off full price. There's small type on the screwed up purchase page labeled "ADD DISCOUNT" lets you get to the coupon code entry box. That's bad coding, again, but it's there.
(III) NEW PRICES: The Home version is now $59. The upgrade price, before tax, is $29.50.
(IV) IF you own the v2 Pro version, you can indeed upgrade to the v3 Pro version if you like. The upgrade Pro price is $100 and adds a pile of new capability. But it may be far more than you need, in which case the Home version is quite adequate. (PS) Their Support were super nice to me! That helped. /Research dissertation 😓

I've written the developer to ask exactly HOW to get the 50% discount upgrade price from a version 2 license. So far, I cannot ANY discount applied when attempting to buy version 3 Home. I went right up to the point before entering my payment information with NO SIGN of any discount. <--Not acceptable. If they sort out the situation, I'll post further. Otherwise, consider me disappointed and disinterested in paying the full $59. *sigh* 😠

It's well worth paying for the Home version. Unless you're a professional administrator, you do not need the Pro version. This is the best tool for its purpose by far! I'd give it 5 stars except for the inexplicable/idiotic/pesky/user-hostile times you're told to prove your registration. YAWN. But I'm always successful doing so. I've found it VERY useful when stuck using 2.4 GHz WiFi to avoid interference from other 2.4 GHz users, allowing the user to choose the least clashing channels.

I too purchased this under BundleHunt previously and the vendor was less than responsive, especially when I needed to re-activate this. After jumping through hoops several time I left this nonsense behind and moved on to an alternative. It appears my previous comments have been "moderated" as they are no longer showing here. If I had paid full price I'd be even more perturbed, but replacing it with something just as versatile was more effective than jumping through hoops when I perform clean re-installs on my machine.
