I bought both this and Flame Painter. They are both quite interesting programs. They both seem to be written by single Eastern Europeans. They both have profoundly inadequate documentation. Profoundly bad. Profoundly. They both have a slider control panel and there is no way to understand what to do with them, from a real point of view. I would have easily paid double for something I could control. That said, this is the one of the two applications I will be using, because its set of sliders allowed me to converge on an effect I want. And it has a promising lightning tool.

I don't understand. I was running the previous version of Fumy which was purchased at the app store. The download here did not direct me to the app store, but I figured since I purchased it, the license should still hold. The new copy of this app is not registered and tells me my images will be watermarked...what's the deal?

The tiling feature doesn't work on the left and bottom edges of the document.

Works great on my Macbook Air. I've never used it before, but this version is very stable. I haven't tried it with my Wacom tablet yet, but pen pressure support, for each value, would really make this work so much better. Hope it's in the works. Excellent deal of the day.

Smoke and later, Fumy v.1.5 work fine on a MacBook Core 2 Duo-Snow Leopard with built-in Intel Graphics. Fumy 2.0 does not work on this machine. The new requirements should be changed to reflect the need of a separate graphics card and the lack of support for Intel GMA Graphics.

Is 2.0 a paid upgrade or is the former serial still valid?

I tried both this and Flame painter and consider Flame so much better - it has a way better brush settings, is slightly faster and allows proper work with layers etc.

Dear users! I have mistakenly uploaded a build with the protection turned off, i.e. it didn't accept any license. This issue is solved and the proper build is already uploaded - please, re-unstall the app. You don't have to purchase the license again, "Fumy" accepts old "Smoke" licenses.

Just bought a copy whilst it was on offer to help support the developer. This isn't exactly what I need just yet, but I hope that it will come in later versions. Being able to import a reference image and use layers would be extremely beneficial to use this "toy" in a production environment as most uses for this type of effect in graphic design and illustration would not just use this effect exclusively. Being able to scroll around the image whilst holding down the space bar would also be nice. I hope we will see these features in a future update.

Great fun software but it is just too low resolution to be useful for semi-pro work... At the max 3200 pixel resolution, the edges are jagged and pixelated. It does look great for web applications... Try writing with it, you definitely get some never seen before results.

Willing to hand over ten dollars to see where the developer can take this. Beautiful work so far. (Would like to see larger image canvas options, seems limited to 1920x1080 currently.)
