Transmission is a fast, easy, and free multi-platform BitTorrent client.
Transmission sets initial preferences so things "just work", while advanced features like watch directories, bad peer blocking, and the Web interface can be configured with just a few clicks. It supports full encryption, file selection, a Web-based interface, groups, peer exchange, automatic port forwarding, webseeds, watch directories, tracker editing, global and per-torrent speed limits, and more.
Its code is freely available online and is licensed under either the GNU Public License v2 or the MIT License. The development team welcomes anyone who is interested in contributing code, documentation, translations, or other help.
Version 2.92:
Note from Developer: It appears that on or about August 28, 2016, unauthorized access was gained to our website server. The official Mac version of Transmission 2.92 was replaced with an unauthorized version that contained the OSX/Keydnap malware. The infected file was available for download somewhere between a few hours and less than a day. The infected file was removed from the server immediately upon discovering its existence, which was less than 24 hours after the file was posted to the website. To help prevent future incidents, we have migrated the website and all binary files from our current servers to GitHub. Other services, which are currently unavailable, will be migrated to new servers in the coming days. As an added precaution, we will be hosting the binaries and the website (including checksums) in two separate repositories.

Everyone running 2.90 on OS X should immediately upgrade to 2.91, as they may have downloaded a malware-infected file.
How about updating your entries if you list the apps and you're making money off it? Transmission 2.90 is malware ridden according to the developer's website. Transmission 2.91 is clean, apparently.
"Everyone running 2.90 on OS X should immediately upgrade to 2.91 or delete their copy of 2.90, as they may have downloaded a malware-infected file.
Using “Activity Monitor” preinstalled in OS X, check whether any process named “kernel_service” is running. If so, double check the process, choose the “Open Files and Ports” and check whether there is a file name like “/Users//Library/kernel_service”. If so, the process is KeRanger’s main process. We suggest terminating it with “Quit -> Force Quit”. "
You've already started adding your own installer to a lot of apps you list and now you're linking to malware. Good job Macupdate and good riddance, Sourceforge needs a friend. I'm out!
