MPlayerX is an alternative media player powered by ffmpeg and mplayer. MPlayer OS X ran OK, but it was slow. And also, the new technologies from Apple prevailed--such as Core Animation, Grand-Central Dispatch, even OpenCL--and pushed me to give them a try.
So I started without even knowing how to program under Mac, came to know Xcode, Objective-C 2.0, Cocoa, and the Core family. MPlayerX is still in such a primary stage, I will keep on enhancing it, and figure out how to do this and that.

Kudos to the MacUpdate Admin for giving us the link to the 1.1 *binary* and not the scammy, adware encrusted "installer".
I can't believe I'm saying this: DO NOT go to the Dev's site, and download the *.dmg file that's only 1.6 meg: It has MacKeeper & other scams within, you still would have to "network install" (download) the binary anyway.
Maybe we should just donate to the Dev and encourage him NOT to do this? I already did. He *does* deserve a coffee.
4 stars b/c it's a great update to MPlayerX. It really is. -1 star for the dumb, scammy installer. Just dl from here/sourceforge that is 38 megs or so.
Once upon a time a nice media player for OS X, a GUI for MPlayer open source library.
But developper turned as sad man and input adwares in the software for make money.
