Cumbersome to use. Echo the comments of a previous poster that once you open the software, you're presented with a cacophony of multiple colors and icons that as a casual user tells me nothing. All I want to do is have two duplicate libraries between a laptop and a desktop to use with the new streaming Apple TV. I don't wnat to have to go and boot up my laptop every time I want to watch once of my movies. THought this would do the trick, but ITS WAY MORE EFFORT THAN THEIR ADVERTISING LETS ON. I wasted $30.

Great program, Initial 6.2 download is flawed on Mac and refuses to launch. Hopefully fixed soon!

At both MacUpdate's download link, and that at the Developer's WebSite, he download link gives a bad DMG (i.e., "SuperSync_6.2.dmg” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash").

With this App, it is so easy to sync music between multiple computers. It's a "Smart" iTunes library manager, sync all music between my 2 macs without any hassles! Am happy with it :)

Takes some time to learn. And it is powerful. You can really screw yourself if you're not careful. Baby steps. Version 6.1 is great at handling metadata synch.

I´d love to know how do you sync metadata between 2 libraries. For example:
I have the same file in both libraries, but one of them has the track number and the other one doesn´t. How can I copy the metadata from one to the other?

Sorry to ask here, but supersync support doesn´t seem to be very responsive (and tight now their site is not even working). Thanks !

I don't think apps should be dismissed out of hand for being non-native. Yes it's ugly, but it fills a niche where no other options exist.

Using SuperSync and music has become very easy for me to manage. I am simply loving it. Initially felt it little complicated but now I have understood it and that complicated feeling has become a simple task for me and am enjoying it. I can retrieve a song from a laptop, play or download a song from my computer at home by being at office, upload a new album while am on my way or back-up a complete music library on a new computer or network drive. I use SuperSync to keep the tunes between my desktop and laptops in sync. it's awesome that all my music, movies, and playlists can be moved to all the computers I keep music on.

This app, even now in Version 5.x, needs a major update. The user interface is not intuitive, server connections are not maintained, media is partially synced or not supported (not music but on the video side). It was a great tool when we just had music on our iPods but the world has moved forward - it would be nice seeing SuperSync doing the same

Hi All Don't bother with this app. It sounded just what I needed but have had issues with it since the install and in nearly two weeks of trying I have been unable to get ANY response from ANYONE at SuperSync. Even ignoring my requests for a refund!

I purchased this software before iTunes Home Sharing was available, and your comment "cumbersome to use" is a perfect fit. I felt like I spent hours trying to set this up to work between 3 computers. Once Home Sharing came out I had everything working between 4 Macs in a matter of minutes.

In all fairness to the developer I wish to update my previous review though not much has changed. But first, to the person that said "not true" about my comment that Supersync does not work between a wired and wireless computer.... It's great you are able to work it under Airport network conditions, but it will not work with a simple wired router and wireless signal. Tried to work through this with the developer and even he admitted that most of the time it will not work. What I wanted to update everyone on is that contrary to my previous comments, the developer has been very active with me in trying to get the software to work. Unfortunately, I have ended up receiving a refund. While the music files synched perfectly between both computers, the problem lied with the playlists that did not synch. So, in my case, with lots of playlists, they would not be updated when the music files were ported over. I will say that the developer felt that my case was special because I had the same account on two computers. He felt that if both computers had duplicate accounts that the software might not synch the playlists correctly. My advisement would be for everyone to fully test this software prior to purchasing. I did want to give credit though to Brad at Supersync who indeed showed great interest in assisting me through my problems.

Same problem since I started using this; Title and Play Count changes won't sync because of an Applescript variable name problem. I've been emailing support with every new version starting with 3.3.0, and not one email back from them about it. File syncing worked fine, but once all the files are synced, what more is there to do besides syncing meta data? Basically worthless at this point, as I can't trust anything I change in one library to merge into the other.

Very difficult to comment on this software though my opinion of it and its support is very low. Needed some way to sync iTunes from one MAC to another, specifically a router wired desktop and a laptop working off that same router wirelessly. Well, found out you cannot sync in that manner which is a huge inconvenience. In order to sync both computers must be wired together. That's the first problem. Second, the software is not intuitive. I opened it up and was faced with so many different colored indications that are not clearly labeled and a sync button that doesn't entirely sync the library verbatim. Though I was able to move all my music over from one computer to another, I still can't figure out how to copy my playlists. The music is copied but the playlist count does not match. How to manage playlists is not very clear. Third, support is horrible. You write a letter to this company with questions and it takes days for them to answer. Actually, did get one person to reply to me but had to send him multiple emails to get additional questions answered and sometimes it took nearly a week for a reply. If you send in a question through their support email don't expect a reply for a few days. Support is really non-existent. I wanted to wait a few days and really give this software a better review. Had support been better and more concerned with answering emails sent to them I probably would have given this software a far better rating. However, after buying a 5-pack license and not getting sufficient response to my emails is very discouraging. It's almost like the company knows the software is limited in what it can do and doesn't want to confirm that to the user. Maybe that isn't the case, but by ignoring emails sent to them it sure comes off that way. I would test drive this thoroughly before considering a purchase.

Love the program, works great for moving/syncing files, but Metadata syncing is broken. The applescripts that get generated to do all the meta info editing use the wrong variable names. I've written the developer once or twice per week detailing the couple changes that it would take to fix it, but no response.

As a Mac and PC user with a big tunes collection on iTunes, I needed something that allowed me to share my music remotely and across platforms. I came upon SuperSync and it really works for me. I can listen to all my music just about anywhere -- on my laptop while I'm on the road, at work, where ever. The interface is intuitive and robust. It took less than 10 minutes per computer to download, install and configure. I'm glad I found it because I don't have to use my iPod as a music transfer device.

A cool application--great if you have several computers in the house and want them to each have a copy of all your music (or a subset, or if you want one master library that's always up to date.) SuperSync is cross-platform which is great if you have PC users around.. but that also comes with a tradeoff on a less than perfect Mac experience with the UI.. (But a good first effort!) The application hasn't crashed yet and the tech support has been responsive. I'm actually using SuperSync instead of iTunes for my main shared library.. but keeping both open lets both applications get new music updates when I upload music using another SuperSync. I just started accessing my music via SuperSync at home from work. Its a little slow, but for getting a CD's worth of music it's perfect. This is one of the few shareware apps that I keep running always and feel is worth cash. I'd go with a 5 or 10-pak and distribute the keys amoung my friends if I were to buy again.. (the keys need to be unique for sharing to work..)

This program rocks! I am pretty anal-retentive abvout my music library and when sharing it with a friend or managing ti amongst multiple drives it's a pain in the arse. Been using SS now for a few weeks and it's a HUGE time saver. The ability to see exactly how 2 libraires match up and where the overlap is awesome. Well worth the dough IMHO.
