The qBittorrent project was started in March 2006 to create a lightweight but featureful BitTorrent client that would be multi-platform and very easy to use.

I'm trying qBittorrent as a potential replacement for Transmission, but though it's DLing ok it never ULed a single bit since I use it... I've only added the same settings that work for Transmission, so I can't figure out what's wrong.
Usable for a while but then keeps freezing in Big Sur. Every time I trash the app with `AppCleaner` and reinstall it. Other than that I like the functionality, especially working with magnets.
Quite good, but I would really like to see some improvements...
- The window should be devided into "downloading" and "downloaded/sharing".
- The "last activity" should NOT be resetted when restarting the app.
- When deleting torrent files or the files itself, they should NOT ne deleted at once but be put into the trash.
Kudos to qBitTorrent dev team, this version is a good initiative to the right path. The UI has improved so much. Now it usable. Keep improving and will keep giving up stars.
My problem with qBitTorrent for Mac is the interface, it is ugly as hell. Even for obscure and unused Haiku OS, qBitTorrent is nicer. Come on. I tried it on Windows 10, Mint Linux 18, Haiku OS and it sure is worst on Mac.
link is wrong, it goes to 4.1.3
correct link https://sourceforge.net/projects/qbittorrent/files/qbittorrent-mac/qbittorrent-4.1.5/qbittorrent-4.1.5.dmg/download
Worked for a while - 3.3.6 but now I'm completely stumped - it searches and finds lots of torrents, the yellow light at the bottom stays on saying I have network issues, I test the outgoing port and it's OK but I cannot download anything - download button not working. I've spent significant time reading their forum and internet posts on the topic and just can't find anything - at least at a low enough technical level that I can understand. Like the interface and speed but just can't get it working.
My solution for crashing on qBitTorrent 3.3.3 and lower is to uncheck / turn off Display torrent content and some options within Preferences -> Downloads. Do this before you ever add a torrent or magnet link. Use AppCleaner to trash the app if you're stuck, then reinstall qBitTorrent, and subsequently (before anything else) get into Options (Preferences) with my suggestion. This resolution works on Lion 10.7.5 and Mavericks 10.9.5 .
