InfoClick overview

InfoClick is designed to be used with Apple's Mail application to navigate through your emails to see the words, contacts, and information within. InfoClick knows precisely what words you've used, so there's no guessing; it offers a guided process of progressively narrowing down the matches in a series of simple choices. That means you can't ever produce a search with zero matches. For example, when you're searching for all emails containing a particular word, InfoClick would show the completions "connection", "connexion", and (the misspelled) "connecsion", if you'd actually used those words in your emails.

InfoClick offers additional features to make searching your emails easier. To see all emails received from educational organizations in the US, simply type .edu in the From field. With a single click, you can narrow-down your search to only those emails that had an attachment, and/or those received in a given date range, and/or those that contain specific words. You can choose, as alternatives, all displayed word spellings used in the emails, so you don't miss an email because of spelling errors.

InfoClick also offers a note editor, allowing you to collect and organize links to emails, files, Web pages, and other URLs (notes are completely searchable).

  • Showing the contextual menu in a search field can trigger errors
  • Avert a handful of rare situations that can lead to crashes

This really really fixes the BAD BAD Apple Mail search. I even attached some of my old Apple Mail Archives to it (exported as EML Files). Works great!

Search in Apple Mail was awful, and Rocketbox used to make it better. Then Apple Mail caught up, but they still haven't got it completely right. But luckily there's InfoClick: great software. Would love an El Capitan version, though. (Database access in 10.11 only through a workaround at the moment.)

Worth every penny when you consider how awful complex searching in Apple Mail can be. Very fast and powerful search options. Be useful if there were some preference to automatically update the database but otherwise, a gem.

Best solution I've found so far for predictable and reliable search in Apple Mail. For reasons unknown to me Apple's own indexing via Spotlight never worked in a consistent way for me (sometimes stuff isn't found although it's there etc.). InfoClick just works, thank you NIsus!!

After searching in Mail.app for an email I knew existed, I finally looked for a better solution. What good timing, as InfoClick just came out. It took around 10 hours to index my 600k+ emails, but once it was done, I was quickly able to find the stray email that eluded Mail.app's search. So far, I'm very pleased. InfoClick is a nice, clean app that does one thing well and is priced perfectly which is exactly what I look for in an app.

I always thought search in Mail was pretty good. Use InfoClick for a few days and you'll quickly be pulling out your credit card. Well worth the money. Incidentally, I purchased it yesterday, and the price was $12, not $15. I wish I didn't have to have it always running for it to do its indexing, but that's just me.

I have used this for several weeks while in beta and I have found it to be the best way to find email. Your search can be narrowed in so many ways and as you add characters to the search box suggestions instantly appear. I like how the email content is shown within InfoClick so I’m not switching back and forth between apps. Excellent tool!

I have been using it for a few days, as soon as I received the mailing from Nisus regarding the release. It is too early for rating it, but I do already tend to use it for any search that is not a simple one: i.e. I have been using iut a few times every daysince I installed it. It proves quite useful for narrowing a search: for instance, when looking for a specific mail from somebody with whom there has been a lot of correspondence. The way it sugests possible matching words/names/addresses as soon as one starts typing is also working quite well. The indexing of the mail database (in my case more than 60,000 messages) took less long than initially announced on the progress bar (it said it would last one hour, but it took probably half that time. It is important to knpw that it works only for Apple Mail: it won't index messages found in other mail clients.
