Developer should be required to rename their app. New Domain names are CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP. That should not be an excuse. Copyright still applies, even if the other Spark is free (and there are only 2 not 3, at least on this site).
This has potential. I'm looking for a simple menubar to do app that I can sync between my Macs and an iPod/iPhone/iPad. Spark accomplishes that by using iCal.
If I stuck with Spark I'd be happy, but I'd like to be able to add and edit to do's in iCal or Mail (on iPhone/iPad/iPod), and it doesn't seem to allow that. If I add a new to do item in Mail, for example, it doesn't show up in Spark. Conversely, the notes I add to a to do item in Spark aren't visible in Mail or iCal. Also, if I create a group in Spark, it appears as another to do item in iCal and Mail.
If the developer could figure out how to improve the integration between Spark and iCal/Mail to address these issues, he'd have a winner app on his hands that I would happily pay for.
Seems that Spark doesn't want to ignite. Won't launch under 10.6.2 on an Intel Macbook Pro. Developer's email address below returns a server error. Too bad, so sad.
Maybe you should try to purge the "~Library/Application Support/Spark" directory? That might not be such a good idea if one wants to keep their notes intact when upgrading though.
That said, i just upgraded, and it worked just fine without any modifications.
My email is correct (joshua.garnham@yahoo.co.uk). It should work fine, have you tried re-downloading? If that doesn't work maybe try the previous persons solution.
Developer: I want to e-mail you with questions and some suggestions. I can't find an e-mail contact on your web site. I don't think MU is the appropriate forum for my doing this. Can you please provide an e-mail contact? Thank you.
I was confused, because I use Spark since many years now and thought of an update. But this is a complete different app. The developer should think of another name I guess.
I'm the developer of Spark and I understand that Spark has already been used but by the time I knew this the domain had been bought and the app in Beta. Sorry for the confusion.
Maybe you should consider renaming your app because another application named Spark is here for some time… http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/14352/spark
I know. But I had already purchased the domain and decided on the name before I found out about that App. It seems that there are 3 apps named Spark now.

"Please be aware that Spark is no longer in development and will not be updated."
I don't think they're going to change the name.

How are developers getting away with having an app that has the same name as something else? Confusing.
