Most practical and efficient time management tool I have been working with. Easy to learn to configure for dealing with your day to day tasks and responsibilities during the week and month. The daily early morning email reminder helps you start your day focused and prioritizing your to do's in an effective manner. Very recommendable,

My new to-do app. Made the switch from Wunderlist to Todoist, when Microsoft shut it down earlier this year. No regrets so far.

Tried this for a good solid 3 weeks in conjunction with my regular to-do app, 2Do. While I liked many aspects of Todoist (simplicity, clean UI, cross platform), there are some things that make this really hard to accept.

I don't care for the Mac OS version requiring to be opened when the menu bar app could be sufficient (eg – Fantastical). Sure, you can hide it, but what's the purpose of the menu bar then which shows or provides little functionality other than to state the number of outstanding to-do's and to "open" the main desktop which really means to switch to it as it's already opened.

Subtasks are almost a given these days for these type apps, but for some reason (and not seen as a priority), Todoist does not allow for recurring subtasks within a recurring parent. So if your parent repeats weekly ("Review timesheets"), the subs ("Tom time", "Mary time") will not once these are clicked done. If you make the subs recurring, then the entries appear twice: under the parent and again on the parent level. Makes no sense!

While I understand the cross platform purposes as the probable reason to host (and thus charge) its syncing service in the Premium, the lack of alternative options (CalDAV, Google, Dropbox) makes it feel like a forced requirement to purchase a recurring subscription.

The day-to-day is quite nice, the sync/interface between desktop-web-mobile is excellent, and the option levels of simplicity make Todoist a great solution, but these UX issues stop me from making a full investment at this time.

I liked the app enough in the free version that I signed up for a year of premium. (Note: starting in December 2018 the yearly price for new premium users will rise from $29 to $36, the first price increase in several years.) I'm still trying to wrap my head around the best ways to implement projects, labels (tags), colors and filters (smart searches). Because it's so flexible it can be customized many ways and therefore get complicated. When I started I had a SHOPPING project, then I applied tags for Home, Work, Pharmacy, etc. But then I deleted the SHOPPING project and just put everything into their primary projects and added a 'shopping' label to items I wanted to buy. Six of one, half dozen of the other, right? Anyway, it seems to work a little better for me. But it still can get confusing. There are reminders, and also due-dates, and both can give you alerts. So that's more possibility for confusion. But I mostly blame myself for the confusion, not the app. One really nice thing, even for free users, is 2-way sync with google Calendar. So you can schedule things in Todoist, they'll appear in your calendar, and if you change the info or date in the calendar the changes will sync back to Todoist! ALSO: Todoist announced that in late 2018/early 2019 they're actually revamping the app significantly, and no one knows yet what exactly that means.

Pretty good and fully cross Platform. I'm not keen on the wsy it does projects and I agree with one fellow - it desperately needs a start date.

Indispensable app for me as I have a lot of tasks to do almost every day. It helps me to be in time to the appointments with its reminders. It is also easier to plan my day, I always have my To-Do list at hand in my tablet when I'm on the go.

I think of this application (web app) more as a platform than a "task manager". It's easy to pull it up with almost any device I have (at work, home, mobile, etc). Quick to enter a task. Quick and intuitive to move the task into any nested format. No need for IT involvement at work because I can log in through my browser.

I am using this app all day, constantly updating status of my various work projects. I can then filter and print what I want to see, or who I want to share the printout with. I have found that is scales very well from simple task lists, to elaborate nested tasks in multiple projects. Through all of that it maintains an excellent balance of effective and clear UI, stability, tracking features, and helpful for me, printability.

As for customer service, bugs are corrected quickly, and updates come frequently enough that I know issues are addressed.

I've used OmniFocus extensively before, and I don't see myself going back. The Doist team has done a fantastic job.

It's the craziest thing: unlike in Things and OmniFocus (for example), tasks can't have start dates, and the development team seems resolutely opposed to them, since they believe that reminders will do the trick. Otherwise this is a really good alpp.

I wanted to try Todooist, downloaded and opened it and saw a web page with many missing images. :-( Do I need to register for a web service to use it? I don't want a task management application which need to sync with any web server, I want my data to stay locally on my Mac. Can I do that with Todoist?
