Desktop Curtain is a simple tool to hide the clutter on your desktop. It's perfect for teachers, presenters, writers, developers, and anyone else that hates clutter and/or needs to take screenshots with a clean background.
What's New
Version 3.0:
  • Added a shortcut to quickly place the curtain behind the currently frontmost window.
  • Added a new curtain level: Behind frontmost application.
  • You can now use the current desktop picture as curtain image.
  • You can now have Desktop Curtain launch on login while keeping the curtain initially hidden.
  • When Desktop Curtain covers items on your Desktop, clicking the curtain now makes Finder the frontmost application.
  • The curtain level setting is now directly accessible from Desktop Curtain's menu bar/context menu.
  • Improved the curtain image history's efficiency.
  • Fixed an issue where connecting/disconnecting displays would confuse Desktop Curtain.
  • Fixed an issue where Desktop Curtain would interfere with OS X 10.7 Lion's Mission Control.
  • Other optimizations for OS X 10.7 Lion and beyond, plus various user interface improvements.

Awesome! This app is a must-have for me, as I'm often running out to client meetings at the last minute and never seem to have time to clean up my desktop before a presentation. The new v2 of this app is Awesome! Now works on multiple monitors, and has lots of different customization options... all for $1.99??? This app is an absolute steal! RUN dont walk to the Appstore and grab it!

Works great, but has view issues. It only activates on the main monitor and is not active on a second monitor. When you are using spaces and you show all of them to, lets say, move a document window from one space to another, you can accidently grab the curtain and it moves. It should stay put in this mode. When activated, it shows the current application documents but hides any others. I want it to hide just the desktop.

Indispensable for holding presentations with demos (so the audience doesn't see the mess on your desk) or making pretty screenshots with a background.

I use this all the time!
My desk is a mess, but it need to be so.
Desktop Curtain hides my desk mess and when I need access to the mess: exposé!
One request: Clicking the curtain make Finder active.
Well, two requests, Dropping files on the curtain -> copy them to desktop..
