This used to be a must-have app for designers. Now that the app is discontinued, are there any alternatives - preferably with the support of Pantone and/or NCS colours?

Been using this app for years - All the features in the current version do not work - The Text utility and the Symbols utility do not work. Tried to contact the developer , all they say is "we are working on it". (for the past 2 years). Shame.

I really like Art Director's Toolkit, but I've been given a free copy with a Mac purchase once, paid for it once and am being asked to pay full retail again for an update. No, I'm using xScope which I don't like as well (prefer the plain jane interface of ADT over the techie look of xScope). Justification for the pricing was perhaps the Pantone inclusion (very useful for planning painting a house for instance) but now even that's gone. Code Line, I don't know who told you that previous buyers like to pay full price again and again but they were wrong. Five stars for the app, four stars without Pantone, one star for pricing and marketing and customer appreciation.

I was using ADT a lot, it is really a nice combination of tools. But they silently removed Pantone support in 5.5 which was one feature that made this app stand out from others. What a shame!

What is the difference with version 5.2.6? I compared the two apps side by side and they seem exactly similar to me. Why should I pay $19,95?

I have used this program for many years and I love it. I recently had to do some design work for a CalArts/REDCAT event and it made the job that much easier. I could not say enough about this product without sounding like I own stock in the company ( which I would gladly buy if they ever go public). I have had great success with the customer support contacts and would highly recommend this to anyone in the Graphic Art Industry. Way to go Code-Line Comm. love your stuff.

It returns false RGB values on Intel iMac. Disappointing as I've used it for years on PPC

Not bad, but it's the kinda of app, while using it for 15 minutes, you keep on thinking "I wish it did this a little different" or "I wish it had this feature" or "Why didn't they do it that way?"... The UI is slick but the feature/price ratio is not in its favor... My personal opinion of course, they charge what they want and they don't force you to buy it... More features and/or less $$ would do it for me, but not quite enough for me to buy/use it as this point.

This piece of cr@p put some hidden files in the system. Then it is expensive for tools bindeled with DTP or GFX applications. Pretty useless. And not stable. Arts directors use more pro software, lol. $35 is a rip off.
