This is a piece of software that is part of a complete proprietary system that the company manufactures to control your entire house. The website is focused on marketing its entire system with hints of compatibility with other hardware but there is no place on their website that seemed to offer specs or compatibility information with other technologies such as X10 and Insteon and Nest. If you are just starting out it might be interesting, especially if you are willing to make a substantial investment in hardware, but otherwise it may have limited interest. The entire site in my opinion has tons of marketing but little substance and you have to dig to find really information of interest, such as costs. The company seems based in Austria.

I'm with Loxone, and I'm happy to give more information on it. The system itself is pretty open with loads of interfaces in the Smart Home world (LAN, IR, RS232, RS485, DMX, Dali, 1-Wire, ModBus, ...). The products itself, as well as the specs, are listed in the webshop.
The company is based in Austria with subsidiaries all over Europe (Germany, France, Switzerland, Spain, Belgium, Italy, ...) and two offices in the US.
The App itself is free and offers you the possibility to connect to one of our Demo Miniserver, so that you can give it a try.

Re: Loxone:.

In your reply you list interface hardware connections and transmission protocols, but you fail to mention other compatible products such as Insteon, X10, Z-Wave, Philips, etc. that average consumers might recognize. Listing protocols is fine for geeks and hobbyists, but not for the average user that just wants to simply automate their home

But that makes absolute sense as you wish to sell your hardware. not just provide a free app to support your competitors equipment. The problem with that paradigm however is that it makes life much more confusing and complex for the average user who may have existing equipment and just wants to add some features.

My guess is, that given the choice, if they are comfortable with what they have, they are likely to stick with the same brand as opposed to buying yours as they will be less motivated to spend time test your app in the hope it will work with their existing system then to just buy something they already know will work. That's the tradeoff.
