Keyboard-centric application and window switcher.

Overview

Command-Tab Plus is a keyboard-centric application switcher. It is designed to let you switch between apps in a faster and more convenient way. When you work with a lot of programs which are running, switching between them can be a problem because it often takes a long time. Command-Tab Plus gives you many improvements in working with multiple applications, and is designed to be an alternative to Apple's native App Switcher.

Features
  • Quick Switch Between Applications - Using Option + Number key makes switch to an app without tapping a bunch of keys.
  • Isolated Spaces - When using Command-Tab Plus, by default it displays only app icons are running on a current display or a space. Thus, apps on inactive spaces are hidden on the current space. Of course, you can disable this function in settings.
  • Hide Unused Applications - Command-tab Plus hides icons of inactive (hidden) apps. This function allows you switch more quickly between apps you are using at the moment. That is very convenient if you have a lot of apps in the background, but you don’t want them to show up in the switcher.
  • Customizable Appearance - You can customize an appearance if you need, change border or background colors, icon sizes and more

Hi Paganel- I imagine that I use the built-in command-tab, conservatively, about a billion times a day:-) And I use command tic (not sure the name of that character) to move among documents within an app. And, I see that you have glowing reviews, so I have a simple question and with no negativity intended: what's the difference? Wouldn't some sort of comparison chart be useful, showing what the built-in utility does and what yours does? Also Butler, and LaunchBar?It would help me because I am not seeing it, though clearly many others DO see it. Thanks.

I think SuperTab is it's closest competitor and I'd like to see how it compares (besides being nearly 20% cheaper).

As a long time Liteswitch X user, I was looking for a retina ready version that was still being maintained. But I was not willing to give up any functionality. Command-Tab plus is that app. It does exactly what it says on the tin. Switches apps, in glorious retina, and raises (/ activates) windows of the app I'm switching *to*, all using sensible (configurable) shortcuts. This should be Apple's native task switcher. Developer was quick to answer any questions I had, and equally fast in fixing a minor UX issue. Worth every penny!

This app is a MUST HAVE if you use multiple apps at the same time. The newest update is fast, has a low RAM and CPU process profile. The support via Sergey is almost instant and fixes come like lightning. Support Sergey and his work you will not be disappointed!

According to MacPlus Software' webpage a license to CTP costs 10 USD, but MacUpdate offers a license as a promo for 22.75 USD, surely this can't be right.

After my free trial expired, I was hesitant to purchase this app because duh, I didn't realize how inferior the stock macOS tab switcher was in comparison to Command-Tab Plus. Oh, and the developer is extremely nice—whenever I've encountered and reported a bug, he has always addressed at no more than an hour!

I "guess" I made a "mistake" and bought on the App Store. Now I'm left with a crippled version that hasn't been updated recently. Useless

Unfortunately, due to the limitations and rules of the Apple App Store, I can not publish a full-featured version and even just a small update, the Apple Review Team refuses to post a new version for any reason. I recommend making a refund in the App Store and using the new version from the site

An extremely solid start for a command-tab replacement app. Extremely useful if you like to work in dedicated spaces for different apps. Rock solid core functionality, and an active, responsive dev with a proven track record of useful and well-designed software. For me, it's been incredibly helpful while writing -- I can stay within my research and drafting applications, but still have plenty of operations processing in the background.
