Vivaldi does not remember the window size! You maximize the window, but when you restart the browser it's small again. Vivaldi's forum is filled with complaints about this, but the developers don't care, since this problem has existed for ages.

It's better now. In the new version, they introduced some changes to the code, which causes windows to open faster and reduces memory consumption. (Vivaldi 6.2+)

The slowest browser of all browsers built on the Chromium engine. It's nice that it has a lot of options and can be freely configured, but it consumes a lot of resources and is sluggish.

I really want to like this but there are a lot of web pages that don't load. In a race, Safari seems to work twice as fast. However, I like the look and feel of this browser when it works.

Sorry, no. Having used Firefox for ages, I tried Vivaldi. I tried really very hard to like this browser, to switch to it permanently, but it lacks so many things I like on Firefox, it was impossible to switch. One extremely annoying thing is that is does not have a History menu or button. You have to open a panel, double-click (!) the link and close the panel again.

Here's a little trick for pure Intel users who don't want to DL the Universal (heavy) version: go to https://vivaldi.com/download/, right click on the DL button and copy link, paste link and delete the ".universal", now you'll have the lighter Intel version. ;-)

In the past six months Vivaldi has slid into position as my 'everything browser'. Mac, Windows, and Android all solid and synced. Once M3 is implemented (updated version of Opera Mail), which is in the offing, my workflow will be consistent across all my devices and a perfect thing will be created. Hopefully you will have gotten hip by then. But my breath remains unheld. Some like to muck about forever...

For anyone having issues with v3: it looks like it's mandatory to clear browser data (History > Clear Browsing Data). I had a new trial with v3.2 and it froze quite immediately, anything I did... Now everything seems to work again.

Bad luck with my new trial of v3... At least it launches, but I immediately had issues that I have not with v2.9, even with local files! I believe it's the recent versions of Chromium that are faulty as I also have issues with Chromium browser. :-( Chromium 79 was better than 8x...
