Overview

Cryptocat is free software that aims to provide an open, accessible instant-messaging environment that encrypts your conversations and works right in your browser.

Cryptocat is an Open-Source experiment - the goal is to provide the easiest, most accessible way to chat while maintaining your privacy online, because we believe in Internet privacy.

What's new in Cryptocat

Version 2.2.2:
  • Encrypted file transfer is now back in Cryptocat after being temporarily disabled pending review. Note that encrypted file transfer is not available over the Encrypted Facebook Chat feature.
  • Updated Ukrainian translation.
  • Small bug fixes.

Also not listed in the MU listing is the removal of Tor support for Mac because no one maintains it.

BluenoteMac, I posted this back in July. Look at the date of my post. It was a valid warning and the fact that the developers made such a blunder with something that purports privacy should give anyone pause in the future as well. This is the kind of stuff that gets activists jailed, tortured and killed. Sorry if you can't handle the truth or look at dates of posts.
