Great service, pretty decent free (with registered [paid?] account) app. Good to see it's still being updated for new Mac OSes. (Also nice to see it's integrated into Firefox, and that there are 'Add to' extensions for Chrome and Safari.)

Solid. Fast saves and easy to use. Nice that you can link with a mobile device too.

BUT I would like to be able to read saved web pages for offline reading, when not connected to the internet. I thought this might be a kind of up to date ShoveBox app, but alas no. I am still using and loving ShoveBox, even though it isn't supposed to be compatible with El Capitan. But it still works great, maybe 99%, as the odd page produces a failed download. But it is still great at saving - on your Mac - a full and perfect copy of the web pages you save.

P.S. surprised to find that ShoveBox is no longer listed on Macupdate.

Does it save the HTML documents offline or is it rather a tool to manage your bookmarks ? In other words, will I always need internet access and do all my saved articles have to be hosted online at the time I want to read them or can I save and read webpages regardless of my internet access ?

I'm very confused by this. I have a Firefox add-on/extension, Pocket (formerly Read It Later), which seems to still work although I am OS 10.6.8. But now there is this app, which apparently connects to all browsers -- although who knows for sure, as the product description is very vague, and the video at the developer's site is even vaguer -- however it is only for OS 10.7+. To confuse matters further, when I go to FF's add-ons page and look at "Pocket", it calls it version 3.0 (like this application here) but the download is called read_it_later-3.0.0 Can anyone explain, please? As the "developer"'s page is bereft of pertinent information

bbw7 - This application is for actually reading the articles that you save to Pocket. The Firefox extension, as you probably know, is just for saving articles to be read at a later time. Our screenshot on this listing was actually showing a browser extension instead of the Mac app, so I've updated those so hopefully it's a bit more clear :) To your second point, Pocket was formerly called Read It Later and I'm guessing they just forgot to change the download name on the Firefox extension. Hope that helps clarify!
