Analyze data and create graphs and charts.

Overview

Lively Logic helps you analyze data and present it in beautiful graphs and charts. You can explore your datasets, perform calculations, and create graphs and fine-tune their content and appearance. Change the graph type, choose the data series, and customize axes, fonts, and colors all in seconds.

Features
  • Create line graphs, scatter plots, bar graphs, bubble graphs, candlestick charts, pie charts, and tables.
  • Inspector bar gives you control over the content and appearance of your graphs without clutter or unnecessary complexity.
  • Combine different graph types or show data from multiple datasets in a single graph.
  • Enter formulas to model variables or analyze quantities in a dataset. Whenever the values in the dataset change, the calculations are automatically updated to show the new results.
  • Over 80 arithmetic, statistical, logical, calendar, and text functions are available to help you work with your data.
  • Import or export CSV files. Save graphs and charts to JPEG, PNG, or TIFF formats.

What's new in Lively Logic

Version 1.5.4:
  • Adds support for exporting SVG files.
  • Fixes overlapping export options controls on macOS High Sierra.
  • Fixes graph series being blank after switching them to bar graph series from other types.
  • Fixes graphs disappearing when setting an axis range's minimum value equal to its maximum value.

Unusable with large data sets. I had to Force Quit twice. I then tried it with a small data set but all I got were blank charts. At $25 during the promo it was tempting, but it turned out to be disappointing.

Hi Espiridion, I just uploaded a video showing how to set up a basic chart: livelylogic.com/guides/basic-setup As for Lively Logic's performance with large datasets, in my experience it does get sluggish with datasets with 10,000 entries or so. I've been working on some improvements in that area.

When I click on "download" after purchase, I get to another site altogether. Where is my program?

never mind, I finally figured it out. There are competing "Download" buttons on the Downloads page. Bad design.

I've bought it today, and I am having trouble to enter my license. Indeed, there are no place to enter it. It's a file, and when I double click on it, it says that my application can't read this file. there is nothing in the preference set or other part of the application to enter my license, so it says that the application is on a 7-days trial mode.... I need your help to make it works!

Hi Benjamin, it seems something went wrong with generating your license file. I've sent you a replacement license by email. You should be able to install the license file just by opening it with Lively Logic (e.g. dragging it to the app icon, choosing it via File: Open, etc).

I have the same trouble. When I drag the license file into the lively logic window, the program answers, that the document could not be opened and that the license file is not valid for this version of lively logic. What could I do?

Thank you. It works now. Is it possible to ask you to send me the license again in case I lose it?

Now that they have a trial version I'm able to test it out (trial is only 7 days though). I've been using it over the last several days and overall I'm impressed. My gold standard for graphing is still DataGraph but this program is close. It is not as full featured and customizable as DataGraph but it can still do probably 90% of what DataGraph can do. The benefit is that it is easier to use (for the most part). Like DataGraph you add another element each time you want to add a new series to a graph. I find this approach to graphing much easier than the approach Excel uses. In addition, you can make tables besides just graphs. The instructions and help could use some fleshing out and more examples would help too.
