  • Store everything you own - With Bitcasa, you can store all your data, including entire external drives, and never have to worry about storage again.
  • Bitcasa is safe - Bitcasa encrypts your data before storing it in cloud. You can now safely store all your memories without ever having to worry about them getting into the wrong hands.
  • Access from anywhere - Once you've stored your data in Bitcasa, you can access it from any device. Your data is intelligently streamed from the cloud and does not take up any space on your device.

As a concept Biitcasa is awesome service. However, in reality Bitcasa in its current form is nothing more then alpha level concept that shouldn't be in consumers hands. The main problem is the fact that this service is extremely unreliable. When you upload your file to cloud storage you expect it to be there. With Bitcasa this is not the case. It is very likely that something has gone wrong with your uploads and the files are corrupted. In my experience almost half of my uploads have failed meaning another go at uploading. Unfortunately the upload speeds are also very slow especially when backing up your photo library from iOS device. The fact remains this is the worst cloud storage service I've ever used. For pure storage go with DropBox or similar and for sharing use Droplr or similar. There is no room for highly unreliable service like Bitcasa.

Great concept. but the Mac App just simply doesn't work. Files don't get uploaded, the app say 1M from finishing and after 3 days still say the same message, leaving files unknown if uploaded or not successfully. And with the new costs of 99 USD / month just make no sense to get such an expensive junkie. would be almost ok if at least worked. Another problem is that often forgets your login, and you have to re-login, plus sometimes forget your computer too, that means all your sync are useless as now you have to resync everything.

Good concept but the Mac app is plagued with problems. In fairness so are the Android and iPhone ones! For usability it is no rival to Dropbox.

There are better ways to waste your time and trash your system. I am very patient with companies bringing new ideas but Bitcasa is just so bad...

There too many problems to write about. It's not ready for prime time. I purchased for a year, but if it is not fixed I will asked for a refund. I would not trust it for all my precious data.
