I am having a problem with my mac and it only affects iTunes, go figure. Anyway it makes listening to music in iTunes extremely distracting and annoying so I decided to try some of the other players out there and ran across Black Omega. First I am amazed that there are no reviews. This app does what it says. The GUI is not great but it delivers the best sound of any player, including iTunes with add ons like Hear and Audio Hijack. After listening to this program next to Vox, Ecoute and others this wins hands down. Although it is a bit over priced IMHO especially when you compare it to the competition who may not sound as good but have better GUI's and some have more features. So if I can keep in mind that its the ease in accessing my iTunes and the sound of the music that is important I will probably buy.

Digital audio is an exact copy. There's no reason why one piece of software would sound "better" unless it's applying EQ or something. But then it's not an accurate playback. Your plugins are probably making iTunes crash.

Your right it was the plugins. Hear and Audio Hijack just stopped playing nicely together. Deleted both and back to iTunes working fine.

Hear works fine, when you don't use Audio Hijack at the same time. I use Hear with iTunes, Amarra, Digital Power Station, BitPerfect, Pure Music, and whatever other music-player app that I feel like using.
