Nektony Memory Cleaner

Although I have other utilities that display and manage my Mac's memory, Nektony Memory Cleaner is my program of choice. The UI is attractive and easy to understand, and the company seems to know Macs inside and out. While this is a free utility, the company makes Mac Cleaner Pro ($) which includes terrific companion programs, including App Cleaner & Uninstaller, Duplicate File Finder, and Disk Space Analyzer, all of which are top-notch! And they're already Sonoma-ready!

Love this app. I have a pid one but I erased it as soon as I installed this app. This is so much better and it's free!!! Good job guys!!!

Tells me recurrently I have 1 GB more free memory than what Activity Monitor's memory pressure shows. The best feature is freeing up memory of course, which seems to work well.

Works great! So many mac cleaning apps out there but this does the job perfectly, been using it for 3 weeks now, and I'm happy with it, especially with limited memory on my old iMac 2017 27".

Interesting how nearly EVERY review below was created the SAME DAY that the user joined MacUpdate, and they haven't posted or downloaded anything since?. If you're going to provide FAKE reviews, at least make the reviews a little later than your join date!

Very unobtrusive app that does a great job reclaiming memory. Also amazing to see how inefficient some apps are (if not most) about releasing memory back to the OS.

It definitely increases the power of your computer at least 2 times. Let me tell my story as Memory Cleaner saved my life: I was using Photoshop, Premiere Pro and many programs simultaneously. Since my computer is a Mac Air with 8 GB RAM, I could not mount 4K video. When I saw Memory Cleaner I thought it wouldn't work, 'After all, my computer had no power. I thought, 'What can a software do?' But out of desperation, I wanted to try. The result surprised me a lot. My computer went from a weak MacBook Air to a mighty Macbook Pro. Now I bought Macbook Pro M1 and installed it again. The result is great Thank you to the developers of Memory Cleaner.

Nice app! But does NOT launch at system startup when choosing that option in the preferences under Mojave 10.14.6.

This app is extremely useful, effective and enjoyable. I have a 2017 MacBook Pro with 16 GB of RAM, and the memory regularly becomes fully or so while only using one web browser (common web pages, nothing special). I notice the situation as everything becomes super slow. This tool not only cleans the RAM, but does it automatically and for free. Plus, it provides key insights that the Apple ActivityMonitor app fails: RAM usage by app (the Apple utility provides RAM usage by process, which in the context of a browser with many tabs corresponding each to a process, is pretty useless). I was using before CleanMyMac, but it is far less convenient and super time consuming (no automation), and much less informative (no stat by app).
