Switch is a simple menu bar utility to help you quickly switch your current browser page between Safari and Google Chrome. Or vice versa. Also supports transfers from and to Camino, Firefox, Opera, Chromium and Aurora.
What's new in Switch
Version 1.1:
Added support to transfer from & to Camino, Firefox, Opera, Chromium and Aurora.
Added ability to create new windows in browsers when you cannot transfer.
New behavior when in an application that cannot transfer urls (shows menu).
New Preference for default browser choice for single-click transfers.
This is/was a great app that unfortunately does not work in macOS 10.12 Sierra. If this is no longer active, is there another app that allows users to simply switch browsers on the fly? Other apps I've found change the default browser. Apple scripts or automator are clunky workarounds.
If you 'Show Develop menu in menu bar' in Safari > Preferences > Advanced you can easily open the same page in another browser. Firefox has a plugin called 'Open With' which does the same thing
Sounds like a cool idea, but app won't launch for me. Tried versions 1.0 and 1.1. Absolutely nothing happens, as if I'm not even clicking on the icon. Does this work in 10.7.x? Console error message is :4/2/12 2:18:17.679 PM com.apple.launchd.peruser.2109968200: ([0x0-0xbc0bc].com.easilymistaken.Switch[2115]) posix_spawn("/Users/jaye/Downloads/Switch.app/Contents/MacOS/Switch", ...): Operation not permitted

I guess I'm waiting for version 1.2.
This is very cool! For all its merits, Safari has a very bad habit of not being able to handle many web links with imbedded Java scripts. It just sits there and does nothing. With Switch, instead of selecting a web address and copying it then launching Chrome or Firefox and pasting the address into its bar, I can just click on Switch and away it goes. Thank goodness at least Chrome and Firefox in my experience, have the ability to handle just about any javascript that is thrown at them.
A promising idea for a simple application; sadly, once downloaded and installed, it didn't find my other browser, Chromium; but did find Firefox.
Also, the developer's page for the application only seems to provide a download and no contact information (that's why I am commenting here).
If you could add in the functionality to add additional browsers (like Chromium) this would be much appreciated.
If the above is done, I will update my comment accordingly.
