Toau overview
Toau helps you convert plain text into an audio file.
To have it speak a language other than the default English, go to "Preferences - System Voice - Customize..", then choose the new voice you want to download. After the download is finished, set the "System Voice" to the new voice you just downloaded.

it would be useful to have this as an audio unit virtual instrument to use in your favorite daw, for quick text changes without having to export/import the .aiff everytime a change is made.
i guess you could also workaround this by using soundflower/jack to input it directly to the daw but an audio unit would be one of a kind (haven't found any that converts text to speech).
