I don't know why the bleep this isn't part of Safari to begin with. I'm glaring at you, Safari developers! But this little app works great! Just downloaded it and it did exacatly what it was supposed to. Listen up, Apple, you knuckleheads! I love ya, but get real!

I have deleted this app because it is NOT as effective as using Firefox. Firefox has a robust bookmarks manager that syncs across all of my devices. I now periodically import my perfectly sorted bookmarks into Safari.

You no longer need SafariSort:
If you have the current Safari -- you can alphabetically sort by name or address by Control-Click (Or right-click) on the bookmark folder

. You will get a drop down menu that you can use for that

Does this app still have a problem with iCloud? The work-around posted several years ago (Nov 14th, 2013) seems take more than an hour of time: shouldn't that work-around be part of this or another app by now?

What's not to love? Stupid that Safari still does not have this simple feature.

I (thought) I LOVED this app. It quickly did JUST what I wanted it to do. Then, while in my bookmarks, happy to see all folders and bookmarks where I wanted them and sorted, they all switched back to the original unsorted version right before my eyes. I sorted over several times, each time with the same result (perfectly sorted, and then not). If anyone can explain this and has a fix, it'd be a 5-ear rating for all.

That's probably your iCloud sync. Turn off Safari in the iCloud System Preferences pane .. . Then turn it back on. But don't get me started on emptying iCloud bookmarks completely and starting afresh. I do recall, besides the head pain, that all devices must have Safari sync turned off, to start ...

Janet,

Sorry you had this issue... Note this is caused by Apple's iCloud not SafariSort. iCloud is famous for causing headaches. The fix is easy.

I noticed this as well! All my hard work wiped away! :( I just export my bookmarks the old fashioned way as a backup. JUST in case.

Turn off iCloud Safari Sync before sorting your bookmarks.
After sorting them, turn on iCloud Safari Sync.
You will be then asked if you want to replace iCloud's bookmarks with yours or if you want to merge them. Choose to replace iCloud's bookmarks.
