I've been looking for a replacement for PearLyrics and happened to see this on MacUpdate today. This is just brilliant! Here's why: 1. It works. (Been using PearLyrics but it just doesn't work very well anymore. No surprise there, but I was using out of loyalty to the developer and hadn't found another that worked.) 2. It embeds the lyrics in the song file, every time. (PearLyrics was spotty on this one) 3. Flip over the widget and click Editor. It shows you the lyrics it found so you can edit them or clear them and start over. No need to go to Get Info in iTunes to make corrections (yay!). Click Save to save changes. 3. You can also see a list of songs it found that may or may not match your search. Very handy for cover versions. Haven't seen that before on a lyrics widget. 4. You can adjust font size. Very handy for displaying lyrics on your tv. 5. Color of the widget can be changed. Helps you see the lyrics easier. 6. It has keyboard shortcuts! (see developer's website for a list) 7. Very fast. It works even faster if you've got your artists as First Name, Last Name. I mention this because previous versions of iTunes sorted artists incorrectly (Ella Fitzgerald under E) so I had changed my artists to Last Name, First Name. Now iTunes has Sort By options, which makes that unnecessary. 9. It's pretty without being ostentatious. (This is what critics refer to as style) 10. In constant development since 2005. That's dedication. I used TunesTEXT with Doug's AppleScripts for iTunes (NoLyrics to Playlist and NeedleDrop). NoLyrics will find all your music without lyrics and corrals them in a playlist. I weeded out the instrumentals and stuff I knew it wasn't going to find lyrics for. Then ran NeedleDrop for 30 seconds for each song. TunesText found the lyrics for everything that was left (practically). Really excellent work.

I wish lyrics were built into Itunes and moreover I wish the lyrics displayed on the Ipad, Iphone devices. I just downloaded this app on my MBP. its nice however I prefer MiniLyrics because is scrolls like a karaoke player so its fun at parties. It work very well for me. http://www.crintsoft.com\

sadly this software has been discontinued by its developer as of 13/11. it was a great little widget i used all the time, and can still kinda be used as a lyrics reader if you wish (don't have to go into get info etc) but you of course have to put the lyrics in yourself :( i hope someone out there can one day pick up or make their own version of this because it really was a great little widget!

Still problems with MetroLyrics (the other times was about strange characters), and the other 2 website don't find anything: "Unfortunately, we don't have the lyrics for ***** yet. Check back soon, as we are always working to find the latest lyrics and adding new songs every day." This is the text that sometimes I've found instead of the lyric. So annoying, I have to delete it manually. Why don't add one of the best website for lyrics: http://lyrics.wikia.com?! This site is worth as the other 3 put together!

I've tried tons of similar Apps/Widgets and TunesText is successful more often than the others, and has never downloaded wrong lyrics for a song: a problem I've had with other lyrics downloaders. TunesText also makes correcting wrong lyrics easy.

I was using TunesText 0.8.8 (+ iTunes 9.2.1) for several months and it always worked fine. But since I updated to iTunes 10.1.1, TunesText doesn't work anymore, it doesn't show any lyrics, even the lyrics I already saved doesn't appear anymore (but they're still stored in the mp3 tags, I verified that). I downgraded back to iTunes 9.2.1, hoping to solve the problem, but TunesText is still empty. An update to TunesText 0.8.10 didn't help either. Does anyone have any idea how I could fix this problem? It would be much appreciated, thanx!

Very slick, easily used program for finding lyrics online. What's particularly promising is (1) excellent speed, (2) pics that accompany the tunes, (3) intuitive instructions. For me, it would be easier to use the application through iTunes; TunesTEXT uses the Dashboard, which makes it less convenient. However, lyric queries were quite accurate, and results would appear within seconds.

I just LOVE it. Thanks a lot to the developer. I tried several apps, but this one does the job and on top of that, it does it beautifully. I can't believe it even retrieved the japanese lyrics of some jap albums i have. One of the most useful widget i got so far. THANKS!

I can't get it to work. I clicked "Info." Wanted to see other features. It ignores my clicking "Done." Stays on the Info side of the Widget. I quit the Widget, reload it. It ignored any changes I made on the Info panel. It does not appear to "listen(?)" to iTunes, so no lyrics show up. Snow Leopard.

This does a fine job I like that you can select which sites to search, and that it doesn't rely on lyricswiki (which seems too flaky as a reliable source - not sure what goes on there, but it seems developers constantly need to rewrite). I only wish it would include some non pop-music sites. Always have to manually hunt for jazz and/or showtunes. Anyway, this does a fine job at what it does. But if you'd like lyrics displayed on the desktop as an (so that itunes can be in foreground) -- try the excellent "DesktopLyrics"

Harmonic use to work for me but it started pasting the wrong lyrics to the wrong songs and over about a month time screwed up most my library. Checked out pear lyrics but I wasn't getting good search results. So far, this seems way better than anything else I've tried. Thank you developer! :-)

This is a great widget. If you only get one program to copy lyrics into iTunes, get this widget. I have found more lyrics for my (rather esoteric) collection of songs with TunesTEXT, than with any other iTunes lyrics tool. There is a downside, however. Watch out if you already have lyrics in some of your files, as TunesTEXT will erase those lyrics if it can't find the lyrics in the databases it searches.

Great idea, and has great potential. However, it keeps crashing on my Intel MacBook. The widget remains in place, but the app crashes in the background, even after restarts. Would be even better if the lyrics in the widget were both editable, and copyable!
