Does anyone actually use this anymore? $120 is pretty steep for something that simply reduces image size. You can do that with an automation action in Photoshop.

Thanks for your comment Tim - and sorry for the late reply. While Photoshop actions can do a lot of things, they can't do what ArtOptimizer does (and neither can any other tool). ArtOptimizer goes through Illustrator links, opens them in Photoshop, rescales according to their dimensions in Illustrator, reduces resolution to the defined target, and reimports images back to Illustrator at 100%. All of this is done automatically with just a click of a button. In addition, ArtOptimizer can convert colors, apply sharpening and do some other essential adjustments. Doing all this manually would take you many hours of tedious work - which translates to hundreds of dollars wasted (not to mention the precious time of your life). If you work with image-rich documents in Illustrator, ArtOptimizer will pay for itself in a couple of weeks (if not days).
