Trash It! is an AppleScript-based application that force-empties your Trash and/or removes stubborn items. Especially useful if you have files or folders in the Trash with permissions set incorrectly, locked Trash items, want to securely delete a stuck item, or trash items from other partitions. If you drop files or folders onto the Trash It! icon, it will delete them as well. If you double-click on it, it will clean out your Trash can. This is the software recommended by Apple Tech support when all else fails!

What's New
Version 5.0:
- Removed the use of the 24U Appearance OSAX (so no progress bar). This was based on user feedback
- 64-bit ready. Can be opened in 32-bit mode as well using Get Info on the app
- Choose between Fast delete and items that are Really Stuck (when emptying the trash)
- Removed Secure Delete as it was too slow, a resource hog, and users didn't care for it
- PLEASE read the readme for complete list of changes, usage, and installation. As this is a complete rewrite, please send bug reports using the contact form on our website

3. You have a large number of items to delete (i.e., previous system folders).
4. You just like using cool scripts. :)
This is not a Finder trash can replacement! It should be used as a last resort!
Please note: Trash It! v4.1 is still available on our downloads page for people who prefer it. Special thanks to my beta testers for this version.

Best little app ever -the mac's genius empty trash feature is absolute crap. Your software emptied my rubbish in 10 secs, you geniuses!!!!

Trash It did exactly what it promised and there have been no issues with the machine since. Now at last the regular "empty trash" command is working properly again.
