A simple program that can send "magic packets" to wake up sleeping computers supporting Wake on LAN (called Wake for Ethernet network administrator access in Mac OS X).
This program works great! what can I say it does what it says! My only request is that if someone double clicks one of the computer profiles in the list it should bring up the ip info of that computer instead of having to click "info". It would also be nice if future versions allowed you to save groups of computers kind of like addresses groups in apple address book.
Sorry about the low stars. Looked at it quickly and as far as I can tell there is nothing wrong with this program, except that WakeOnLan is so very very much easier to use that I can't see switching to this one.
I might consider using WakeOnMac if at the very least it added the ability to automatically discover wakeable Macs and PCs on the LAN, instead of laboriously entering network data for each.
Looking forward to both apps improving through competition.
I use both, but in fact WakeOnMac 1.0 seems to actually wake up a remote mac, whereas WakeOnLan isn't always successful. However I agree that WakeOnLan is useful, as it gives a lot of network info after a scan.
Also worth remembering that "Wake for Ethernet network access" in Energy Saver needs to be enabled for anything to work :-)
