The Audio Toolbox is an audio function generator for the Mac. Using no additional hardware, you can produce sine, square, triangle, and sawtooth waveforms of any frequency up to 22 kHz, as well as generate noise. It can be used to create all sorts of cool sound effects. You have full control over the frequency, type and volume of each sound produced.

This is a nice little program. Ideal for making examples for additive synthesis. It is a little spartan, but not ugly.

This application is (1) useless for people who do not work in laboratories, (2) has an _UGLY_ user interface, which means it is really UGLY!
On the other hand I know that there are many technicans who need diagnostic tools like this one and are happy if they can use it.
