Tellie overview
Tellie is your silent second screen, built around the MacBook notch. It started as a teleprompter that listens: on-device speech recognition matches the words you say to the words on screen and scrolls to keep up, in about 50 languages. The same screen does more. In Presenter Mode it shows your Keynote speaker notes and advances slides when you finish a thought. For developers, any app, script, or AI agent can push a line to the notch. Tellie stays invisible to Zoom and screen recorders, and everything runs on-device. No account, no telemetry.
What's new in version 1.4.6
- Open Apple Pages files. Pick a .pages document and Tellie reads it through Pages and loads it like any other script, the same as a Word doc, PDF, or Markdown file. Works with the new Pages and the previous one.
- Paste a script with ⌘V. Copy text in any app, click the notch, and press ⌘V to load it straight into Tellie. Markdown headings and bold come through.
- Right-click the prompter for the menu. Right-click or Control-click anywhere on the expanded prompter to reach Settings, the Pulse Log, and the rest. Handy when the menu bar is hidden behind the notch.

I love it! Finally, a teleprompter that listens to you. Most “voice” teleprompters just scroll when they hear your voice and pause when you stop. Tellie does something different: word-level voice tracking. It matches the actual words you're saying to your script and highlights exactly where you are. Skip a line, it skips with you. Go back, it follows. Ad-lib, it waits. That's different, and it's what makes Tellie feel like a partner instead of a timer. BTW, full disclosure, I'm Steve the creator of Tellie and I'm continuing to make it listen to more than just scripts. Enjoy!
