I thought I'll give iNotePad another try, after I replaced it with DEVONnote and then DEVONthink.
Despite DEVONthink being The King of managing information, I wanted to see if there are any improvements in iNotePad. To my dismay, nothing changed. Last update 2021, and the application stalls when trying to do a search. Just stops functioning. Maybe its ok for short notes, but for information organizing and managing it's useless and powerless. 0.5 stars.

This looks like what I’m looking for in an Evernote replacement except for one essential aspect - no companion iOS app.

After trying all kinds of note applications over a period of over one year, I decided that iNotePad is without any doubt, is the best one. It does what nvALT / Not.Velocity does, and BETTER.
You can adjust font, bold, underline., color...etc., which nvALT does not. The SEARCH function is superb. It highlights the word you're searching, and you follow with a couple of opposite arrows. It works fast and it is perfect. On the left side you create titles/categories. Fast and easy.
Regarding Database mentioned by Trance, I don't know yet. Actually it is saved in documents or anywhere you desire. But will inquire with the developer. Meantime highly recommend it.

First of all, it's not free ...it's nagware, with a purchase popup every time you open the app.
Secondly, it doesn't clean up it's database ...it just grows exponentially in size for ever.
When you delete notes they are not actually deleted from the database, they are just hidden in the app.
