Searching for a replacement for SnapzPro I found this (among others). The downloaded version works for free for basic recording with a mike, but would not record direct sound from the computer (at least I could not find how to do it). Paid versions are available for $199 & $399.

Most users are probably getting tired of developers who are not able to be honest about whether their software is truly free or not.
This app has been marked on MU as FREE as at time this review was written. On downloading the app, I tried to launch it but stops with a silly message claiming the app has "expired". Huh? Why expired? Either it is free (and hence no expiration date), or it isn't. Which is it? Now the impression is that this app is not free, or pretends to be free (probably crippleware unless you pay). I can't tell which since the app won't open at all.
Since I can't see what this app can do, unfortunately I can only give one star for a pretty developer's web site. Anything more would be pushing the boundaries of my imagination.
