As far as I know, Soda Player is the only convenient way to see subtitles in movies casted via Chromecast (VLC can't do this). However, when playing some downloaded MKV files, I get a blank (image; i.e., green) and working sound. Anyone knows of a workaround?
MPlayerX stopped working on my Mac Mojave.
So I thought I would try Soda on the recommendation of the reviews.
And must say so far I am very impressed.
Where is the "features" part of "feature-packed"? No menus to choose screen size, audio or subtitle choices (for mkvs that may contain more than one), A/V push/pull or *anything*. This is the most feature-barren video player I've ever used.
By far the best overall player I've used, and it's free!! I wish I could pay for this app, I feel bad using such a great app for free. It has gotten better with continued support from the team, I use it on my Windows PC's where it is great too. Plus it supports Acestream.
