As Trance points out, it does phone home at every launch. And, since the app quits when the window is closed, this is basically at every movie file start. Please be open about what is going on here. The app could use a loop function, range selection, and keyboard control over window size. The video quality and default zoom settings are awesome though. AirPlay is built right into the player window controls which is very cool, but the green check mark icon in the controls is inscrutable. Maybe it means the file can be decoded or something. If the file is playing then the check mark is redundant. The app played back every weird file format I could throw at it. The player window controls got stuck sometimes and did not fade out, and the progress indicator (a distractingly large bright blue) didn't always line up with the length of the file playback. Despite these shortcomings, given the video playback quality and the handy AirPlay controls, this is a great beta release. If it had a playlist function it would be my default movie player now. Four stars for effort and encouragement.
