What’s new in version 1.5.0.108
Version 1.5.0.108:
- ParticleShop 1.5 includes new brushes that generate continuous brushstrokes from discrete spots of color or speckles. With these brushes, you can achieve either a speckled, pointillist look or paint with thicker, more pronounced brushstrokes. Some variants have an ‘oily’ look and produce interesting smeary effects.
- Now if your image is in a floating window when you launch the plug-in, the floating Photoshop window no longer appears above the ParticleShop window, and you can access the plug-in controls as expected.
- You can now access the Color palette and the Blender tool by using shortcuts.
- Now if you reinstall ParticleShop or install it on another computer, you can restore the brush packs that you have purchased from within the application.

A welcome plugin for Photoshop with some exciting creative possibilities. However at a limited brush pixel radius of 700 pixel I see it merely as a toy, suitable only for web illustrations and postage stamp designers. Once this limitation gets lifted my rating will go up as well.

Honestly, this is the second let down I receive from Corel. The quality of their applications on the mac is at best questionable. When I open a 24 mega-pixel image in ParticleShop to edit, it keeps crashing if I switch brushes regardless if I start it from LR or Photoshop. I tried several similar images and it is always crashing. I have decent macbook pro with 16GB ram and non of the other photography tools I have ever crashes like this, basically it is unusable! unless they fix it I cannot recommend this to anyone.

It says a plug-in working with Photoshop CS6 Mac, but it is not working here ?
The installer does not recognises my Photoshop, only a more recent demo version of Lightroom.

There are some interesting effects in the brush packs, like "Graphic Impact". ( You can have all 12 packs for only $360 , IAPs ; - ) I wonder, is it possible to create the settings that you want by adjusting controls, or are we limited to changing existing presets?

How does this differ from Flame Painter? ( They seem similar. ) Does the same registration work on Windows, because I might want to use it there.
