MailHub for Sierra overview

MailHub for Sierra (was MailHub for El Capitan) is a time-saving email management plugin that can file, delete, or enact actions on emails without leaving your inbox. Email from a contact or thread can be batch-filed to a mailbox (or deleted) with a series of simple mouse clicks or key strokes, radically reducing time spent on mail administration. MailHub even allows you to specify filing destinations for an outgoing message during composition. Create new mailboxes as you go and set action reminders so you won't forget a vital task at a later date.

Note: This update requires a new license. If you purchased MailHub after 20th September 2015, you are eligible for a free upgrade. For purchases before 20th September 2015, you can update at a discount. In both cases, please use this page to upgrade your license: http://dervishsoftware.com/mailhub/upgrade/

I've used this app for years now. I'd have come back to give it five stars, but I'll fit the stereotype of just writing when I have a complaint. This one, however, is big. This developer will not respond about developing for Catalina. No beta, nothing. It has stopped me from updating to Catalina, but I'm done with this garbage. Gladly would have paid for an upgrade. It's the only app that has not updated... months later after public release of Catalina, and not even a beta.

Paid for this on Yosemite. Just upgraded to High Sierra and the serial is not working. No response from the developers. I have moved on to Postbox. They have a similar function pressing "v" brings up a prompt where I can type the folder name and press "enter" to file to that specific folder. I love having Mailhub, but I do not want to pay for it without support and responses from the developers. Postbox email client is fast and $40 gets me the support I want to have!

OK, we are back on the MailHub Deathwatch . Will this wonderful program be updated for Catalina, or has the developer finally completely slipped out the back door? I've sent them snailmail entreaties and even offered them money, and never hear anything back, and then suddenly there is an updated version that works! Hope history repeats this time! And no one has anything else like it. A puzzlement.

I love this app. By far the best plug-in for apple mail. Was 5 stars for the past 3 years of use until now. No way to purchase more licenses. They are no longer replying to support requests and social media messages. Licenses no longer update. I think they have closed their doors and I still have 3 additional licenses I cannot get to work.

Simply the best. I receive a ton of mails every day. Apple Mail wasn't just fast enough to sort them all in folders. So I tried all Mail Clients out there. Airmail, Postbox, ... you name it. But I wans't happy with them. A few days ago I found MailHub and it is just a great peace of software. It ist so easy now to sort my mails. Thank you so much.

(Also I use MailTags with Apple Mail with these two tools Apple Mail works great for my needs)

OK, seriously, we all have doubts that MailHub developers will ever communicate again, much less update their fabulous app for Mojave. So, are there any other apps that do the kind of smart autfiling that MailHub does. Tagging is not the same, and I don't care about scheduling, receipts, reminders or any of that stuff.

I have a valid purchase, yet my order number does not show up in their online upgrade eligibility database. I've made multiple attempts to reach the developer over the past two months about purchasing an upgrade, but have yet to receive any response. I'm terribly disappointed in their customer service.

Bad App: MailButler is more powerful, and has a less bug. Please try the Trial first, and you will delete this poor app with lots of bugs, for example, 1. Cannot INDEX ALL of subunit boxes per mail box (e.g. inbox, outbox, etc. per Hotmail box). 2. Some customized appearance cannot be displayed, for example, checking the checkbox for Arrow/Italics (needing to uncheck "Swap XXX..."). 3. Cannot arrange the toolbox items of this app. 4. I am tired to tell about all the critical Cons... You can waste a lot of time to try it, and get nothing.

Does anyone know whether MacOS 10.13.4, currently in beta, breaks MailHub or not? Sometimes these minor updates have, and sometimes not.

(Asking here because good luck getting an answer from the developer.)

MailHub High Sierra finally out of beta! You can download from developer's site. I imagine it will show up here before too long. So far so good. Probably the most unresponsive developer in history, but what a terrifc and useful program!

Well I am near despairing of this marvelous program ever reviving. I understand the beta works on High Sierra, but how long will that last. Has anyone found any Mail extensions that do the same job? I've written the developer, written to other developers and newsgroups, and even checked out the company's UK registry (active). And the program is still being sold. If you've got any news, respond here svp.

Brilliant addon, works as advertised and the developer is fairly quick with any needed fixes.

I use this addon every day and it really does feel very much a native part of apple mail. My favorite feature is the smart filing, works so well and saves tons of time. Also setting reminders is really nice.

Nice work!!!!!

One suggestion - please deliver betas for new releases sooner....and respond to bug reports quickly.

I got the latest update for High Sierra today and it works fine. Problem solved. Just a couple of days without MH made me unhappy. Happy again.

I purchased the original version and then the update. It's been very useful for managing a large number of folders, however support now seems to be non existent and there is no sense that this is an app in active development; simply that they want to keep it on sale.

I sent in a bug report at their site a couple weeks ago and there has been zero follow up. If you click on the support link now at the dervish software website it says the site is closed. This makes me wonder about the viability of using MailHub going forward.

So right now the web site does not work and a new update is needed. Having paid over for this useful utility/add on its the same old story of a hundred other useful utilities. Maybe the developer got a job with apple or another software developer or didn't have the time they had as a student (and the software paid their way through college)now they are are a merchant banker a doctor or something all this is forgotten.

A few years back, this excellent add-on for Apple Mail also had good support: updated in time for revisions of Apple Mail, responsive to problems, with a user forum on the website. Then about three years ago, maybe with update to Mavericks, this all changed. Now, regularly, a new version of the OS comes out that breaks the add-on (that's the nature of these things), and the developer is completely missing in action and unresponsive — until maybe a month later a link to an update appears on the company's Twitter account, which you know about only if you go and look. When a new update appears, there's sometimes some responsiveness on the Twitter account too (but not by email or via the website), which ends a few weeks later. In between, if you have a problem, you get no response, and the forum on the website has been inoperative for several years as well. With the update to Sierra, this pattern was followed again — except this time this was a paid update. I paid, and now with 10.12.3 the plug-in is not working: filed mail gets sent to "Recovered Message" about half the time instead of where it should go. Multiple messages to the developer have gone unanswered, and I'm less tolerant having just paid new money for this product. Again, in principle a wonderful addition to Apple Mail, but the way things are going, it will function for you only about half the time, unless you never update your OS. I would rate it 5 stars were it not for these problems, and have done so for earlier versions — but not this time.

Been relying in Mailhub for years. I'm on Ver 1.12.8 on Sierra 10.12.3 – no issues. This app rocks. Most of the time, it figures out where I want to store incoming mail. It's less effective on outgoing. But, overall, there is no competition.

So there is an August 1 tweet by Dervish Software with a link to a Sierra beta: https://t.co/zNxTgTUvmE Has anyone here tried it? I see no comments there (and mysteriously, just like last year, the official website appears to be unchanged since 2014 except for one mention of the El Capitan update).

Definitely incompatible with 10.12 - (well, it MIGHT be compatible, but it is automatically disabled when mail is launched.) The mailhub website is gathering dust... the most recent "support" discussion I saw was dated April 2014. The last download available is the first (and only) release for El Capitan (no minor bug fix releases, AFAIK.) I submitted a question to their support team asking for confirmation of support of Sierra, but haven't received a reply after a week. I depend on MailHub (and MailTags + MailActOn) for my workflow, and would hate to see the project abandoned.
