It is the main video player I've been used now. It is simple to open and manage the media files, supports a various number of video/audio formats, even the HD videos. It is much better than the built-in player on Mac. The most important is it's completely free.

Cisdem claims that (like VLC), Cisdem Video Player (CVP) "allows you to load the subtitle files you downloaded for the movie, and the subtitles will automatically be detected and displayed. All you have to do is give your subtitle files the same filename as your movie file." As of 4.6.0, CVP STILL DOES NOT have this functionality. On 4/23/2020, the publisher assured me that this functionality would be implemented with the next release, which was expected in "some days." Over a month later, this update still has not come! For me, getting CVP was a bait and switch situation. While the Cisdem site currently is very clear that CVP is free and that payment gets one Convert Features, when I paid $15 for a 2-Mac license for CVP in March 2020, the website was unclear about this, and I feel I was tricked into paying $15 for an app I haven't even been able to use due to misleading descriptions and claims on the website. It seems to me the publisher isn't trustworthy.

It is indeed free and comes with a feature of video conversion (only 3). Anyway, I am OK with its video playing.
