At least five other FREE players out there that do everything this does. VLC, IINA, MPlayerX, etc.

I gave the trail version a quick look and then deleted it (plus all the System files it left behind). Annoyingly, it had changed all the default apps for opening my avi, mp4, mkv, wmv, etc. files.

I totally agree with Flavum.
Unacceptable that an application changed the default settings for all media files without even asking for permissions, then since it's totally vlc, i do not understand why someone should buy it when its original is free.

@Helmo Hass Because the interface of VLC is ugly and VLC at this point is a hugh app. People are looking for alternatives.

First off, VLC isn't Ugly.

Second: Why would someone pay $5 (or $20) for something that's been ripped-off from another Free App?

Third: Why are you looking at, or worried about, the App Design rather than the Video it's Playing. $5 (or $20) for Vanity is stupid.

Fourth: Any Client that Changes and "Adjusts" Previous Settings WITHOUT ASKING should NEVER be Trusted.

Did not change all the default apps as of this date. Thank heavens. Interface isn't bad. Plays smoothly on powerful Mac at least.
