Because of the new security policies Apple introduces with Mojave and Catalina the app may not have enough access for it's function. I would suggest going into System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Privacy (Tab on the top). Then on the left look for Full Disk Access, Mail or Contacts (don't really know what the app would require, so you'd have to try) and try to add Mail Satellite to corresponding lists. Let me know if that helps!

Clicking on the icon gives an error message with lots of references to Applescript: "NSAppleScriptErrorMessage: Mail got an error: AppleEvent handler failed. NSAppleScriptErrorRange: NSRange: {134, 4} NSAppleScriptErrorBriefMessage: AppleEvent handler failed. NSAppleScriptErrorNumber: -10000 NSAppleScriptErrorAppName: Mail"

Thanks for the heads-up! :) (How'd you even come to find out?)

Any idea how 1.9.23 differs from 1.9.22?

Well: "Note: Mail Satellite is no longer under development, and it is no longer available for sale." But if you want a functional version (and I've got zero idea if this is kosher), email me at eqjoneswholivesatverizondotnet and I"ll send you a copy of v 1.9.22 which I d/l'ed days before MS went belly up and which works, apparently with at cost.

The dev made all the last versions of his main apps available for free on his site. MailSatellite is now (and forever ;-) ) at 1.9.23.

Mail Mini's documentation says that its full functionality doesn't work with POP, that it only notifies you of unread new email, which is all I want.

Try d/l'ing a new copy of Mail Satellite. I d/l'ed it only about a week ago, and as I posted on its MacUpdate page, I can't find any way to pay for it. It's apparently been turned to freeware.

Bought a new MacBook Pro and have been trying to validate my licence code for two weeks with no luck. The dev's website appears to have disappeared, and email bounces back. Is this app now dead? I hope not, as it is indispensable.

Ha! That's interesting, because up until a few days ago, clicking on the dev's website link brought me to a page that listed several Magnesium apps, but Mail Satellite wasn't one of them.

Additionally, I can't find any way to pay for it; how did you turn the trick?

I'll have to laugh if MS is a dead issue, because MailBar, Herald, and Mail Mini have already died on me.

I guess the devs think that Notifications has superseded their apps. :(

Interesting that you said that Mail Mini doesn't work for you. I just bought it as a replacement for Mail Satellite, and it works fine on my MBP running Mojave. It's pretty basic and doesn't offer the features that MS does, but at least now I know when I have email (my other option was to change my Mail notifications to alerts so they stay on screen until I clear them, but that's too in-my-face).

If you got Mail Mini to work with a POP email account I'd very much appreciate your telling me how you got it to connect with it.

Although MM's documentation says that it can provide notification of unread POP emails, its setup addresses IMAP accounts and wouldn't connect with my POP account.

Did you say that Mail Satellite didn't let you know when you had mail?

It's working fine for me.

I'm only using Mail Mini with IMASP accounts. I believe there dev says in the app description that it doesn't work with POP accounts.

Regarding Mail satellite, I can't enter my licence code because (I'm guessing) the dev's server isn't responding any more, so I can't use it. Mail Satellite just says the code is invalid and then gives me the choice to quit. It was working fine on my old computer, but with the switch to a new computer there's no way to activate the software. That and the dev's blank website and the bounced back mail lead me to think the app is suddenly dead.

Nice app from a very responsive developer! I use this all day to keep up with incoming mail and keep my inbox from filling up. It's the best of it's kind and the only app out there that really works!

Developer got rid of the nag screen upon request!
