BigHairyGoal for Mac

I left a review, but since reviews are in beta mode and may not post for awhile I'll just leave a comment as well. The app overall is great and I'm really glad I found it! It does what it sets out to do, but it does get in its own way. It can't handle massive brainstorming ideas, or storyboarding for a book series that has 15-20+ notes per volume (so I've been putting it through the RINGER for sure!). It slows down, has a lot of loading times, and you start to overall feel punished for working too fast. The app has a hard time figuring out what you're trying to do, too. If you have 3 notes in 3 columns, and then move one note from the left to the right for example, and drop said note in the middle of that column, the app might think you want an entirely new column and wallah--completely wrong place, and now you have a resized column or table you didn't ask for. All because you were a couple pixels off from the dead center of the column. The app needs a lot of performance work for speed, and behavioral work so that it can better figure out what you're trying to do. Otherwise, love the app! It's a snappy intuitive tool that knocks several other mindmapping tools out of the park. I've tried so many, and this is my favorite so far. I'm interested in the lifetimeI option but 'm going to subscribe for a year and see what becomes of it first.

Turns out BigHairyGoal is A Good Name. Nothing negative about it. In fact, after I understand the name's meaning, and for the well designed application too, I now give 5 STARS! ...but read on.... I was curious about such a name, so I made a visit to the developer's website. Developer provides a more complete explanation of BigHairyGoal: "The term A Big Hairy Audacious Goal is often used to refer to a challenging, ambitious objective". I guessed someone has coined this term. So I did a search and here is the source, Investopedia.com: "A Big Hairy Audacious Goal - is a compelling, long-term goal that is intriguing enough to inspire employees of an organization to take action. The term is abbreviated as BHAG, which is pronounced BEE-HAG. BHAG comes from the 1994 book 'Built to Last: Successful Habits of Visionary Companies by Jim Collins and Jerry Porras', a result of their study of 18 long-lasting companies. BHAGs are meant to pull people out of a slump and energize them to implement a big-picture-type plan that could take a longer time frame to complete."

black is repulsive. Black background looks scary, and not pleasant at all. In fact, all applications with a back background are reflecting negativity.

The first thing, the app has a horrent icon. The name too.

The app name and icon are very ugly. I will never use such an application.
