Can anyone tell me if the app also quits the Finder when you close "all running apps"? (The thing is that I have Finder-quit activated and I only need it in specific circumstances, and I wouldn't want cmdQuit to stop the Finder process. Note: I'm not talking about killall, because that restarts the Finder immediately, but about an actual CMD-Q for the Finder.)

The idea is good, perhaps needs more polishing. One thing to improve the usefulness would be adding a delay for default CMD+Q action or the CMDQUIT action. Also chancing the keys to something else e.g. Shift-Cmd-Q, may help. I am currently running the COMMANDQ application and I couldn't imaging to live without that, I am old Windows addict using Mac for last 6 years but old Windows habits never die so I still use to close windows rather than using spaces and mission control ;)

This app is a great little too if you, like me, end up with a large number of apps you would like to quit and keep working. The 'selective close' option lets you select all the apps you want closed & then click - closed! Simple no hassle!

It's annoying when, as in this case, an update for a Mac App Store only app is posted on MacFixIt before it's available at the MAS. Developers should pay more attention to details like this. Failing to do so undermines their credibility.

If memory serves, Apple made the "reopen windows when logging back in" checkbox persistent in one of the 10.7.x updates a while back, no? You should only have to uncheck it once, not every time, as the description suggests.

I like the implementation of this app. No menubar, just a little window that pops up when activated, which has five options: show processes running, close all apps, shutdown, hide all apps and show all apps Sure, you can get all these things with one obscure key stroke combination or another, but I like the handiness of this (and not having to keep track of additional keyboard combinations. No preferences either. Very minimalistic. Not enamored of MAS-only apps, but developer's choice (and I am guessing it will be charged for, too, at some point, like same developer's other app, OneTrash).

An Automator app does exactly the same. And creating such an Automator app takes about as long as downloading this app. Also the Automator app does not need to be running in the background and is only 402k in size. I wonder what the other 9.5MB are used for ...

It's only ~1MB. MacUpdate often misplaces the decimal for the size of MAS apps they list.

I am not as clever as you and Automator stuff is outside my sphere of interests - learning wise. Perhaps you could tell us all how to create such an app. If that does not appeal to you I will get the nice free thingy and live with it. I have LOTS of memory so it should be no great burden on my iMac. Then again, quitting apps one by one is not going to kill me either. How long can it take eh?

QuitsApps is a more comprehensive program. Hence the cost. Whether it's worth $10 is another question.
