DiscoBrick overview

DiscoBrick is a concert-quality, highly optimized visualization tool that has the raw rendering power you need to pump out pixels to high-resolution screen during parties, concerts or at home!

Features:
  • Blazingly fast OpenGl-based on 2D and 3D rendering with maps
  • The App works with music and voice or rumors
  • Interactive cameras, Webcams and, of course, iSight live video support : get inside your visualizations!
  • Use the built-in images as textures, or use your own photos & JPGs, PNGs, TIFs and more, or even Flickr pictures!
  • Keep in Touch: Read any news from your favorite RSS-Feed scrolling in realtime over the visualization!
  • Customize the Remote Control with your banner or favorite logo.

Choose the styles for classical music or for your video projector and your parties. Each user has his own style and DiscoBrick DJ offers many different themes for different tastes.

Since there is no demo available before purchase, the developers REALLY need to showcase some demo footage of the product in use with various soundtracks. The still images here and on the website do nothing to help understand the capabilities. Also, in considering using a projector to make an automated DJ lighting system, I was wondering if you have the ability to have edges faded to black — as to not have a hard edge when projecting on a floor or wall — as in this example: http://atmosfearfx.com/images/blog/FoilMatte_HowTo_12.jpg

Just purchased DiscoBrick DJ and there are many problems with this program. (I'm using an early 2011 2.2GHz MacBook Pro - 8GB memory) First of all, about half of the themes do not work and just show either a blank white or blank black screen. Secondly, the themes that do work seem to run automatically without any synchronization to music or any audio. Third, regardless of the audio input that is selected, nothing triggers any movement within any of the working themes. Finally, in-app help and online support is dismal (although not contributory to the app's problems, but take a look at the spelling & grammar errors throughout the program and built-in help). BIG MISTAKE TO BUY!!
