VIdeo Rotate is not something special; it just alters quicktime's rotation tag and it doesn't rotate the stream itself. The same can be done using QuickTime Player Pro, although with a bit less fancy interface.

Rotating a video either way (either through QT Pro or using VIdeo Rotate) does rotate the video to play back on Apple devices and software, though you will find that the video will play on its original rotation when using other software/platforms, i.e. VLC.

In order to rotate the video for playback on other platforms, you will need to re-encode it, loosing some quality. There SHOULD be a way to rotate the STREAM without re-encode, however I have found no such software yet.

Well, my 'Download your full bundle from' link returns an error 404 not found every time. Perhaps this was the intention???

So, I got this app via the MapUpdate free bundle and got a serial. However, the only way to download the program appears to be the Mac App Store, hence, purchase required...

Am I missing something here?

The price who's listed here on Macupdate looks a bit wrong. 313 US Dollar? On the Mac App Store you got it for around 3 Dollars ;-)

That price listed is the combined retail price of all the apps in the free bundle right now. Once the bundle is over, it will revert back to the normal retail price

Exactly what I needed. Does exactly what it says it's going to do, nothing more or less. I can't believe that my mighty Mac wouldn't do this for me! Shame.

It does. At least it does now; I don't remember if it did when your review was posted. Open a video in QuickTime Player (Lion and later I think), then click Edit and Rotate Left / Right. Export. Done!

Only on QuickTime Pro, I believe, Micheal-Fortin. I used to have Pro, but I guess the license dropped off an update or two ago.

I think it is worth while mentioning that if you have a QuickTime Pro license, then you don't need this software.

QuickTime Player has the ability to rotate video. All you need is the Pro license.

For those without the Pro license, this tool is cheaper.

QuickTime Player "pro" 10.0 version comes as part of 10.6.8, but I am unable to find any method to rotate the video with what is present. Can you or anyone clarify this?

QuickTime Pro is only version 7 and needs to be purchased from Apple.

QuickTime X does NOT have many features that QuickTime Pro has.
