Recent Menu overview

Recent Menu is a shiny little menu item, sitting around in you menu bar and showing files and folders recently accessed on your computer. Define which types of recently accessed items to show by creating custom filters for file types or filenames. Click on a menu entry to open an item, press the command key and click to show it in Finder.

Recent Menu is a promising app, but in the end I found its definition of "recent" too limiting to be useful. It appears that a file is only considered "recent" if it's been opened in an application. Creating a file in an app and saving it doesn't count. Downloading a file or copying a file from an external source doesn't count. I really like the ability to create and customize "filters," so that I can group files however I want, and show only the types of files I want to see. If RM could show all recent files by including files created or modified recently (this could be an option in prefs), I would buy the app.

Uhh. I'll just use the one that's already under the Apple Menu. You know, the built in one?
