Am I missing something here? This feature is already available in Mac OS X, since version 10.2.
Open Keychain Access, choose "Preferences…" from the Keychain Access menu and then enable "Show keychain status in menu bar". A black keychain appears with a "Lock Screen" command inside.
Or you can either press Control+Shift+Eject, as alredy mentioned.
???
Keychain Menu Extra doing this same.
Even better.
If you want to use keyboard just press Control+Shift+Power.
So, I still do not understand purpose of this software.
The idea seems great. However, I encountered a few issues. When downloading from MacUpdate, it "installs" the app via a MacUpdate installer which pushes you try some image editing software junk I didn't even ask for. After declining these options the app did not install. Instead the installer placed a copy of the apps .dmg in my applications folder.
I double clicked it because I really wanted to try the app. The package expanded and it seems there was no installer this time, just the app and a shortcut to add it to the Applications directory.
I moved it to the Applications directory and the app summary indicated it was version 1.3 despite the developers site saying 1.2.1 is the latest version. Anyways, I launched the app and ran update, the app updated and then refused to launch, it crashed every single time I tried to open it. (EXC_CRASH (Code Signature Invalid))
I didn't want to spend more time trying to get this thing to work so I'm uninstalling. In doing so, I found this app set a cookie in my system for tracking. Uggghhhh!
seems to be really great.
to make it perfect, please add an Alarm to the securty actions. And these actions should be triggered by disconnecting the macsafe too, not only by entering a wrong password. thanks!
