Music shelf is one of the simplest ways of accessing your music collection. When we used to listen to CDs we would often have a collection of our most recently played albums sitting on top of the CD player. While the CD is dead, Music Shelf brings back this collection of 'recently played' music. By clicking on its icon in the menu bar you have access to all your recently played albums or tracks with beautifully rendered album art.. If you click on an album then it starts to play, or you can select individual tracks to start there.
If you listen to individual tracks rather than albums then Music Shelf has an option to display all the previously played tracks rather than albums. Music Shelf also automatically sizes itself to your screen, but if you prefer you can select a larger or smaller list of recent music. If you want to put music into the list, simply play it in iTunes and Music Shelf will add it to the recently played list.
