Reposition windows effortlessly.

Overview

DoublePane is an effortless window positioning helper.

Have you ever wasted time repositioning application windows so you can see two windows simultaneously? Do you struggle to move and resize windows so that they don't overlap?

DoublePane effortlessly repositions application windows to maximize your screen space for easy side-by-side viewing.

With one click, DoublePane will place the current window to the left half of the screen. With a second click, DoublePane will move a second window to the right half of the screen. You no longer spend time sizing or repositioning open windows. You can layout your screen to maximize your productivity.

DoublePane's side-by-side viewing allows you to easily:

  • Edit two documents without spending time sizing or positioning them.
  • Drag and drop files between two applications.
  • Read an article on one half of the screen while taking notes on the other half.
DoublePane lets you position the current window through an onscreen menu or by using assignable keyboard shortcuts. DoublePane will:
  • Move a window to the left half of the screen
  • Move a window to the right half of the screen
  • Position a window to fill the entire screen
  • Restore the original size and position of a window

That's a fair complaint. However, how can you rate an app you haven't even 'tried'? I do agree that ASO (app store only) apps are a bit annoying for this reason, not really desirable to have the whole market disallow sw trials... but giving it half a star? It looks good, and for only 3 bucks I'm thinking of buying it. Then perhaps I can take a hit for the team, and see if it's actually good.

actually, I'm started to get really annoyed... there are too many competing apps for this niche... not try no buy is a good attitude I think. We have to encourage some of these guys to make a demo build, even if they exclusively SELL on the MAS. I think the 'license' on the MAS is great for the customer, but the rest of the model is riddled with issues, this being the most prominent one from the consumer stand point.

The app store is a great concept for a Mac beginner or newbie because they don't even have to think or know how to download and move any given application to the appropriate place in a hard drive. Just click and charge it to a credit card and watch the install fairy do her thing. And after that the app store monitors updates and in some cases gets upset if you move the app to a external drive. My concern is that i don't know if any given app will even serve my purpose. However for some money means nothing and spending a few bucks means nothing to them.

An acquaintance recommended Moom to me. Great app and, hold on to your hat, a 100 launch free trial. I only needed one launch to know that I had to have it. Had the developer not offered a free trial and a full version download from their website I would never have known just how great Moom is.
